Hello and welcome to our website! We are a group of enthusiasts, hobbyists and computer science students that have banded together for a common goal. We want to develop more games for the recently introduced Mattel HyperScan 32-Bit game console.

Why the HyperScan?

From our initial examination of the console, it is ideal for home-based development. It utilizes a single CPU (for easy programming) and a CD-ROM format (for inexpensive game manufacturing). Other grassroots game development has generated lots of game releases for discontinued systems like the Atari Jaguar. However, the Jaguar's cartridge format was very expensive to manufacture -- and those respective games cost around $70. The HyperScan standardized CD-ROM format does not suffer from this high cost -- as all Mattel's games for the system retailed new for $20.

Why Join Us?

Well, there are a lot of good reasons to join our community. Some of us are die-hard fans of an underestimated game console. For others, we can improve and learn programming skills developing for a game console (a great resume builder). We can provide owners with more games for their game consoles. We can introduce a younger generation to the Linux operating system and its mascot (Tux). Not only do we want to port several popular Linux games -- but we would like to try to port a Live Linux CD for the console (probably command line based like Dreamcast Linux -- but we might get X windows working if Mattel were to provide documentation on the system).
So if you'd like to join the HyperScan Game Community, feel free to send us an Email Now!. Thanks again for your support!
