How to draw car in perspective view
It is simple to draw the car in perspective view. You have to practice to get better in drawing and sketches. All you have to do is to know your ability in drawing. Beginner level or expert level. For the beginner, this tutorial is special for you because I will show you step by step to draw car and as many as you like. Ok let get started with first step.
Step 1
Draw 2 lines that refer to perspective view. Make sure that you know where is the back and front. I just want to draw front view of car. So, my front view is bigger than by back/rear view. After that draw 2 circle. One is bigger than another one. Always refer to lines to make sure it always in perspective view. 2 circle is for wheels. You have to imagine wheels in perspective view. When you feel it ok and normal, you can go to step 2. If you feel that your drawing is not normal, you can repair it. The first step is important because this is the car structure. In this step you only have to draw lightly because it is easier for you to correct the lines.
Step 2
After you have finish drawing wheels and perspective lines, draw the front part of the car. You just have to draw 2 horizontal lines for front part and curve lines for right side of the car. You can measure the length of front part by referring to left side of the car. For me, the length of side part and the front part is same because it is in perspective view. Continue drawing the lines from front part to the back. Refer to image above. Make sure you draw lightly as I mention before. The last line is in the middle of the car. It is a parting lines. You will notice that line when you referring to the image. Draw lines lightly and softly. It is only the structure.
Step 3
After that, what you have to do is to draw the top part of the car. I just draw part by part and it is easy. Draw the front window and side window. Make sure you draw with streamlines of car. And of course, when drawing a car you have to consider about the shape and the aerodynamic. Do not forget to draw middle lines in the side part of a car. Refer to the image above for more detail.
Step 4
After that, draw side mirrors. Make sure the shape of side mirrors is suitable for your car. Make some detail to your side window and to your wheels. Draw another curve or circle and the size of this circle is smaller that the previous one. Draw it and make it just look like the ordinary wheels. Do not make it weird. If you look at the image above, you can see there are something wrong with my rear wheel. So after this I will try to repair it and make sure it follow the perspective. Then, I suggest you draw small circle at the side of your wheels. It locate inside of your wheel. Refer to the image. As you can see, I just drew right front wheel and and another part of the wheel is hidden.
Step 5
Try to draw the wheel and make it more detail by drawing the rim. You can draw other type of rim that are more aesthetic than mine. I think my rim is look ugly but it is the simple rim and easy to draw. Make it more detail by adding headlamp and also other element. In this step, you can bold your line in a different part. First, draw bold line at the bottom of your car and part which that have more shadow or not enough sunlight. Simple refer to the image.
Step 6
In this step, you can add more detail to your car. You can add grill, logo, headlamp, and what ever you want. It is concept car. I try to make more detail to my headlamp by adding small lamp inside of my headlamp. Beside, I also add signal lamp. Don't forget to draw rear lamp. It is look visible in this perspective view, so I have to draw it to complete your drawing. You can repair anything that is not so nice or weird. Maybe you can add more detail to your car but for me I think it is enough.
Step 7
I think I want to hide line at the bottom of my car, so just simple add more marker to the area that have shadow. The area which have shadow is more darker and do not have enough light. I add more black marker but I suggest you use grey marker because it is not so dark. The shadow is grey and not to dark right? And play with marker. Try to experiment it. For me, I add marker at the front mirror and also side window. I just add marker to anything that have a hole or such as grill and rim.
Step 8
Ok finally, you get the result. After that, add more color to your signal lamp and also your rear lamp. That all for this tutorial and I hope you can try to draw and sketch more car. For beginner it is hard for you to draw the car in perspective view but you can practice it.
