So you still haven't got a clue what Niemand is? Well, I don't blame you because even I
can't explain what it exactly is. But, there is always a hope. Following is the list of
the movies (I think) which depict the idea of Niemand well enough for you to understand.
Man on the Moon (1999)
Andy Kaufman should have been a Niemand of the Month. It is quite moving that he tried to be
"positive" in his Carnegie Hall show near the end of his career.
The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996)
The director Milos Forman is very good at translating the life of a Niemand into a great film.
This movie is his another portrait of a real-life person, Larry Flynt. I don't know much
about Mr. Forman himself, but he must be a Niemand too... just like Andy Kaufman in
Man on the Moon, Salieri and Mozart in Amadeus, or Randle McMurphy in
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Mars Attacks! (1996)
Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors. He not only makes brilliant Niemand movies,
but also he makes them really funny! In this sci-fi comedy, everybody dies.
I mean almost everybody. Nobody but Niemands survive. You may argue that Tom Jones is the only
non-Niemand survivor though.
Ed Wood (1994)
More often, true stories seem more bizzare than pure fictions.
There must be so many Niemands out there! Actually most of his other films can be categorized
as Niemand movies: the beautiful Edward Scissorhands, and even Batman &
Batman Returns.
