Gilbert Tuning Machines |
Very smooth accurate turning action, with no slack in the turning action even after some months of use. They come with very durable and resilient rollers as well, which resist indentations (caused by the bass strings) better than rollers in other tuning machines. If you are concerned with good intonation and appreciate the ability to really fine-tune your strings accurately, these are your best bet. Also available from www.lmii.com. |

Gotoh Matte Finish Tuning Machines |

If you're on a tight budget, these are the next best thing after the Gilberts. I like these better than the more expensive Sloane tuning machines. (On the link above, look for the "GGCR" model.) Elegant, and I feel they do an exceptional job for the price. |

Rodgers Tuning Machines |
The most beautiful tuning machines available on the market. They are pricey, but then premium handcrafted quality never comes cheap. Rodgers also accepts custom orders to fit your exact requirements and designs. |

These are really good looking tuning machines too. An attractive alternative to the Rodgers I think. |
