this movie was not exactly advertised well, and perhaps it is not the type of movie that would fare well at the box office anyway, so it was probably for the better that they saved their advertising money i just thought this movie was great i thought that "donnie" did an amazing job of acting he sort of has a "blank" look on his face the whole movie (due to the medication i think), except in the scenes where he talks to frank when he gets this smirky, childish grin on his face and sort of talks like a little kid as well the whole "time travel" thing, and portals and everything else is a bit of a stretch, but it is all at least presented in a way that makes sense one of the most troubling parts for me was how this "frank" character can be both an imaginary friend and an apparently real person at the same time regardless of that, and of the fact that one of the big characters in the movie is a large bunny rabbit with a demented smile, i thought the movie was great i suspect it has a lot more to do with the practice of medicating away the problems of high school kids in our country i mean, he is sort of labeled as a "freak" or something, but is clearly a very intelligent individual most of the time that frank appears to him, it is right after he took one of his pills i think this movie had a perfect balance of humor and serious, good acting added to a very unique storyline, this is one of the better movies ive seen in a while i have to admit that i dont totally have this movie "figured out", but im sure ill keep on watching it till i do... |
