| just because a movie is on my little list here, doesnt necessarily mean it is one of my all time favorite movies, although i guess most are but this movie, is probably in my top 3? i have a hard time deciding which movies to put up there, but this one has to be there the whole entire movie has something happening, there are hardly any slow parts even when you realize that michael douglas is supposed to be the "bad guy", you dont care, you still love him he is just trying to do the "right" thing he just ends up being in the wrong place several times a few of the parts, like when he trashes that store with the baseball bat, or when he holds up the burger place with the gym bag full of automatic weapons...wow, they are just so classic it is such a good acting job in this movie and the ending, even though the "bad guy" or maybe the "hero" i dont know....whatever you call him, even though he dies, i absolutely love the ending i cant really explain why maybe it is the fact that he realizes he has nothing left to live for and he is just trying to die at the end, or maybe it is because there is something sort of.."poetic"? about how he makes the cop have a shootout with him even though he only has the plastic gun and his last words "i wouldve won" (or was it i wouldve got you?...now i forget...) are just great of course i think we are supposed to realize that he is somewhat mentally "unstable", but i just thought the way it ended, sad or not, was great one of my favorite movies of all time, id love to talk to anyone about this one... |
