ah yes, metallica i used to have a lot of respect for this band they did what they loved - rock n' rolling they had a lot of fans who were very happy with them and ya know, they made a damn good living doing so until their "style" of music stopping being quite as popular then what did they do? instead of continuing to make the music that they had been making and keep all of their fans happy, they decided to change things up, make their songs more "radio-friendly" and hopefully sell a few more records, make a few more dollars at first i lost a lot of respect for these guys when they did this, but eventually i at least respected their decision to play whatever kind of music they feel like (i didnt care for the new stuff, but whatever...) then they had to go and do this whole napster thing wow as if they arent one of the richest bands in the history of music, they felt that they needed to be payed a royalty every single time that someone downloaded one of their songs from another fan that is ridiculous if you ask me once youve made more money than you could ever possibly spend in your life, dont you think its time to not be so greedy? doesnt it show that you have fans when so many people are downloading and listening to your songs every day? rich bands shouldnt worry about losing money with napster, and i think that bands that are just trying to get started would love napster because it is free advertising before napster, how would some garage band get people to hear their music? turn their amps up? this is one of the best inventions for musicians ever but for metallica anyway, its not about the music anymore, its about the almighy dollar |
