I AM GRATEFUL
my bio
May - June - July
On this page I will describe to you, the things that I am thankful for each day.
I think it's important, at times, to stop for a minute and realize
that we do indeed have things to be thankful for
I will strive to list at least three things a day
Sometimes that's all that will be listed for today
sometimes an event feeling or person may be listed more than once
it's not about diversity, it's about recognition, and thankfulness.
I may stop and tell you about an important event or person in my life
Whatever it ends up being, I hope that you too will take the time to think of all the things you have to be grateful for.
Well lets start with today

"My Bible"
I read it every day, I just open it and read. Interestingly enough, it's always a passage that I need to hear.
"The sunrise"
it was wonderful today.
"Friends"
I expressed a need for help today and they rallied to my side.
"Memories"
they give me the chance to relive the beautiful times in my life,
offer me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes
and allow me to keep everything I have lost - near my heart.

"Opportuntity"
I will start a CRP instructors course tonght.
the opportunity this country has given me in all aspects of life
is wonderful.
"My parents"
Are wonderful people and if I don't put them on my list everyday
then I am not telling you the whole truth about being grateful.
"The Beatles"
my computer turns on every morning at 05:50am playing the Beatles
for their contribution to music and my life - thank you.

"Trust"
I came back from a meeting with the commissionaires today
I am thankful for that organization and the fact that they are willing
to wait for me to go to work with them.
Soon I wil take my place with them at the airport here in Kingston.
"God"
I will miss church today, God will not miss me,
My prayers have been said and my reading done for the day
I feel good with myself and it wan't until I started going to church
that this happen.
"Mom"
There she is again...
I had a nice talk with Mom today
I got some good news, but, am forever thankful that my Mom is
who she is.

A great place to be
they keep me informed of what is right and wrong
what my responsibilites are and what I should be doing

Always there when you need them
"The rain"
A cold wet day today
hey it's not the weather that's important
the rain reminded me that it's how I feel inside
that really matters.

"Inner peace"
The day started out bad
talking to lawyers (nothing personal guys)
and trying to solve problems I have no control over
I gave up control and will let the Lord take care of it
I have inner peace, it's so nice - thanks

I speak with honesty, and tell the whole story
the feedback I get is well worth my while

Legal DOES NOT equal what's in my heart
I fear the moment when I realize I can not see young John again
I saw him from across the street today
A sense of calm and relief poured over me.
For this I am truly grateful.

"Mr Norton"
I am emptying a house right now
not too much involved - it was pretty much gutted before I got there
I found a computer disc, and was curiuos
I am thankful for Norton antivirus
I laughed out loud when the disc was stopped dead in it's tracks
well done and nice try ...

What a beautiful day today
My heart is calm,
the sun is shining
I'm happy with me - just doesn't get any better

"Hey - For Me"
I just finished a CPR / First Aid Instructors course today
I've known it all along, but realized it (again) on this course
I'm a kind, caring, considerate soul,
I care about people and I love working with others
I, me, me, mine - I'm thankful for me!!
"My room in the barracks"
A small room in military barracks
but you know what, it's my room
it reflects me - it's warm
there is always a candle burning
and scented sticks burning
Beatle pictures dominate one wall, lots of mirrors
photo's of friends and family and pictures my Dad painted are on the walls,
It's my home and I love it.
I am at home, where ever I am

I feel there are things we always know
Sometimes those things are never consciuos thoughts
I realized today, that I had some truely good friends
Thank you guys for all your help

I was once a past dweller
It's nice now
to be able to remember the past
without staying there
without constantly thinking "what if"

"My chess set"
I bought a chess set today
It's been something I've wanted for decades
I never felt deserving of it
the set sits on my room coffee table
it represents my inner struggle with myself
until today the men were typical black and white
today, in reality, my set is made up of two white "opponents"
I listenned to Imagine by John Lennon
as I set it up, with the biggest smile on my face
"Family"
Tonight I talked to my Aunt
she's here from Scotland
all my life she has been like the rest of my family in Scotland
always there, always supportive, always willing to go that extra step
for my family, I am very thankful

I sent out an e-mail to friends and family today
I share it with you...

A good day to be alive.

"My trip to Ottawa"
Hey, it's been a few days since I last wrote
It doesn't mean I wasn't thankful for things in the days I missed
I've been busy - made a page about my Fathers Day
and one about my Birthday
- both days kept me quite busy
BUT today I am thankful for my recent trip to Ottawa
That's where i wrote my Nursing exams
This is to let you know - I am thankful for PASSING
Thankful for the chance to write the exam
and thankful for all those that made it possible
I'm glad I never let you down

I told them about the exams
They were so pleased
I'm thankful for all the support and love
that they constantly give

"Radio Clyde"
I listen to Radio Clyde live from Glasgow
about twice a week or so
I love hearing about what's happenning
in my town
it's also brilliant to hear the Scottish accent spoken
as it is meant to be, with a true Glaswegian twist

"Candles"
There is always a candle burning in my room
has been since October
with the exception of a weekend in January
besides the obvious, (they look and smell nice)
my candle is lit for love
to symbolize that I keep it burning
for someone very special in my life

I had a hard day yesterday
A good friend help me thru it
giving her time and kind words
to help me feel better about the day
I have good friends
and for them I will be
forever thankful

I started working at our local airport today
as a commissionaire
I am thankful for the trust
and patience shown by the corps
They waited till I was ready
I'm thankful for those who believe in me

A wonderful sunrise
hints at a new day
another chance at a new life
and with this new beginning
I received a nice wee card from my Mom
I know with all my heart
my friends and family are always there
it's nice to be reminded

"My heritage"
I bought a kilt - I wore it to the Orange walk today
A deep sense of pride
Overwhealming happiness
I looked at some Scottish WebPages
saw them differently for some reason
I am Scottish
and proud of it !!!
"the things I am learning"
I go to a self improvement group
It's amazing the things I am learing about me
recently I see me in a whole different lite
so what does it mean?
It means that I just keep becoming happier and happier
self exploration, for me, is a good thing
It means not being content with who I am
If I can be better tomorrow
Isn't life brilliant...

I was out with a friend today
He made some rather interesting observations
and made some neat comments about me
His first comment caught me by suprise
"You look like a pig in the mud"
Yes I was - VERY happy - no particular reason
just happy with life and me
His second comment came out of the blue
we were having lunch at a Chineese restaraunt
he got his fortune out of a cookie
and said - this one belongs to you
"Your principles mean more to you
than any money and success."
how beautiful is that
to be thought of in such a lite.

"Life and friends"
Today I give you a section of a letter I have just written
What you and your family have offered and given me,
helped in so many ways.
What you and your family did was not necessary for you to do,
but you did it anyway.
That just demonstrates a good heart and soul,
good people, and ones I am very proud to know.

how can I not be thankfull

Tuesday today
the day I volunteer at the hospital
it gives me great pleaseure to see the smiles
and thear the chuckles of the elderly I work with
today a valuable lesson was re-inforced to me
seemed the majority of the patients were saying
when I want to make a decision
imagine it from their perspective
could I look back at the end of my life
and "live" with that decision
much like the quote from braveheart
"When your old and dying
would you give up every minute from now till then
to come back and fight
for
FREEDOM"
just a thought worth thinking about I think

"Life itself"
Time passes quickly
Summer is all but done
Getting a new job soon
A brush with death
It all doesn't matter
I'm learning that I need to enjoy today
Learning that life goes on
Presently time is a friend
It was a wonderful summer
I love my work - no matter where it takes me
Death and illness makes me appreciate life
It all matters
"Education"
I'm starting a college course soon
at St Lawrence
and will continue with my studies at Seneca
meanwhile I take other courses
just finished one in Alternative Medicine
I find that the more I put into a topic
the more I get out of it
such as, in life
The courses are great and are preparing me
for my impending retirement from the military
I am thankful for the chance to learn
I thank you for that chance
