Here's some mp3's of the music that has impacted me lately
Bill Rieflin: Birth of a giant
This guy is the drummer for Ministry, he made a beautiful album along people like Robert Fripp and Trey Gunn from KIng Crimson. It's sort of a spinoff from The Fragile, as Bill Rieflin played drums on that album. I think it has the same experimental and clinical feel. Chris Conelly's participation gives the album an approach nearer to David Bowie and David Sylvian.

King Crimson: Deception of the Thrush
This album is a shocker. What happened is after several tours, after their album Thrak, King Crimson split up into splinter groups, Fractals as Robert Fripp calls them. Strangely Projekt 2 came first, which featured Robert Fripp on guitars, Trey gunn on Warr touch guitar, and Adrian Belew not as guitarrist but a drummer. Afterwards Projekt 1, which has a more Jazzy feel, which makes for a very loose King Crimson. It features Tony Levin on Stick, bass and synth, Trey Gunn on warr touch guitar, and Bill Bruford on Drums and Percusion. But what interests me most is Projekt 3 and Projekt 4, which are the "fractals"that play the songs I display here. Projeckt 3 has Robert Fripp on guitars, Pat Matsellotto on electronic traps and percussion, which means he's using synth modules and sound processors. Djing it may seems since he's mixing the material too. Trey gunn also in his dual bass/guitar instrument: the warr touch guitar and being a talker, which comes in the Adrain Belew Beat poet tradition as well as continuing what he he did with David Sylvian. Projeckt 4 is a full King Crimson minus Adrian Belew and Bill Bruford, with Tony Levin on basses and stick, Trey Gunn on warr touch guitars, Pat Matseloto on his Electronic traps & buttons, and Robert Fripp to top it all. These 2 "fractals" represent to me, the future of King Crimson as well as the future of Rock as well, as genres such as Techno, electronica, Jazz, avant garde or Rock fold aand combine. Enjoy.
