             MTV
(back when it was good)
I remeber when MTV first came on the air. It was August 1st, 1981. It was a new channel that played music videos around the clock or as they had said back then, "Every hour on the hour." There were 5 MTV Video Jockeys. Alan Hunter, Martha Quinn, Nina Blackwood, J.J. Jackson, and Mark Goodman. These VJs weren't annoying like the later ones that came along like former TRL host, Carson Daly, John Norris, and the others. Back then, MTV used to play GREAT artists like: Duran Duran, Haircut 100, Split Enz, The Clash, The Ramones, Thomas Dolby, Howard Jones, The Cars, Joan Jett, and many others.
It used to be enjoyable to watch MTV back then. But in 1987, when their very first show called "Remote Control" came on the air, that was the beginning of the end. Then they came out with shows like: Club MTV, Headbanger's Ball, Beavis and Butthead,  and THE ABSOLUTE WORST OF THEM ALL: Yo! MTV Raps.
I mean, how do you go from The Buggles to Lil' John and The East Side Boyz?? MTV is now like BET 2 basically. I really do miss the 1980's and I know that there will never be a time like it.

The original MTV VJs.
