Bayname

Bay is a proven sire who passes on his sweet personality and loving temperament to his offspring along with long ears.  Few of his offspring were actually shown in conformation but those that did show were not ignored by judges.

Bay, or Bailey as he is also sometimes called, was the puppy no one wanted from this litter.  While we did not plan on keeping a male, life without him would have been less exciting.  He has become the favorite male.  He is gentle, loving, intelligent, birdie and loves to snuggle.  He also gets along with all other animals, including other intact males.

Bay got his first point at the age of 9 months, much to my shock since it was only his second show weekend.  Shown one weekend every few months, he finished in 2003, completely owner handled.  First point was from puppy class and all the rest we got from the Bred-by-exhibitor class.  Unfortunately, that one puppy point he got eliminated him from being invited to the Eukanuba Classic. (Very disappointing, since I handled him myself in that puppy class too, but that's our luck.  Rules were later changed that would have made him eligible, but the change was not retroactive to 2003.)  He also made a few appearances in the Group Ring before he finished.  He isn't being campaigned as "a special" simply because I don't enjoy all that grooming and travel... not to mention my so-so ability as a handler would make his "playing with the big boys" a joke.

Bay passed his Therapy Dog Certification Test in 2002 and visited both nursing homes and children's facilities in that capacity.  He showed real talent working with autistic children and became "a favorite" among the little ones.

In 2004 Bay continued the family tradition of finishing the Companion Dog (CD) obedience title in the minimum number of attempts required.  Three trips into the obedience ring and he had earned the three required qualifying scores with me.

Retired from competition, Bay is loved and enjoys the annoying company of his Grand Daughter, Flirt.
