Killing Heidi
Killing Heidi: for some people this name would suggest violence, but not for the members of the band. The name really means a loss of innocence or childhood. Heidi is a traditional 'little girl' name.

The band originated in a small Australian town, Violet Town by name. Ella and Jesse would write songs together, then Ella would sing them, and Jesse would play the guitar.

They were 'discovered' as such, in a competition run by Triple J, with their song 'Kettle' which had a very different sound.

They were spotted by some recording executives in the 1996 Pushover festival, and were offered a contract with a company. They decided to wait, and ended up being taken under the wing of 'Wah Wah music' and 'Roadshow Music'.

Soon enough bass player, Warren Jenkins, and drummer, Adam Pedretti joined the band, and those are still the members today.

Their debut single, 'Weir' which also included 'Astral Boy' went platinum, and was followed by the single 'Mascara', which included 'Katrina' and 'Superstar'. Killing Heidi is a great favourite on many radio stations.

'Reflector' their incredible, triple platinum album was released earlier this year, and was an immediate favourite, hitting the number one spot as soon as it was released and selling over 210,000 copies in Australia.

Killing Heidi would be the first to admit that they sound nothing like their influences. They have developed an individual and beautiful style, which frankly, works marvellously.

Killing Heidi is a band that's gonna make it big.
