V.C.Andrews was an amazing woman, who not only wrote tales of twisted, dysfunctional families, but overcame her own personal obstacles as well. I believe it is from her own strength, her own struggles she found the creativity to write the stories she did. Her books...her very own writings...will forever be the best written under her name and if you've never read these books, you cannot possibly be a true VCA fan. Here's to Ms. Andrews, for giving us not only entertainment, but a love for her characters, a feat not every author can accomplish. Sadly, this amazing author was tragically taken from us by breast cancer in 1986 and she is still missed to this day.
Novels written by V.C.Andrews

The Dollanganger Series

Flowers in the Attic
Petals on the Wind
If There be Thorns
Seeds of Yesterday (If I am not mistaken)

Stand Alone
My Sweet Audrina

The Casteel Series
Heaven
Dark Angel
Andrew Neiderman continued the stories and though several of the following series were great, they lacked the depth and creativity Ms Andrews could scrawl. Many times, the series contained similar storylines or things taken from previous works, so they became recognizable. Though I am a fan of the Landry series and I do love the Logan series, I feel they cannot compare to the first two novels of the Casteels or the entire Dollanganger series, and most definitely lacked the eerie feel of My Sweet. Audrina. I give him this much, he tried, and they were good, interesting novels. But, as of late, he has been a huge disappointment and the stories are drowning. So, if he happens to read this, I say just STOP. Stop ruining the name of an amazing author because it's not right or fair.
