The Friendship ProgramBecause everyone needs friendship - for the warmth and happiness that friendship brings, the Volunteer Friends Program was set up by the Queensland Government: Department of Families, Youth and Community Care, and now administered by Disability Services Queensland, as The Friendship Program. The single goal is to find good friends for people who are disabled and have difficulty seeking friendships for themselves. Some people who are disabled have little or no contact with family and a friend can fill the gap in their lives. You can increase your friends opportunities for community involvement and enhance your friends life. For more information call on 1300 303 623 (toll free) or email friends@disability.qld.gov.au
