During 2000 a male Vietnamese vandal kept returning to the cemetery and vandalising many of the historic headstones there.

According to the Police he was caught at least 3 times attacking various headstones and appeared in Court. On being let off each time by the Court he went back and damaged more headstones. 
The Police were not very happy with the situation.
