| Newest Entry at the Bottom Emily started Preschool 9/09/03, Orinentation with mom and dad. She does well, but isnt impressed just yet. She discovers the toys and is off. She isn't impressed with the icky sticky bubble gum song either. but who would be! Class lasted less then an hour. She has 2 teachers. Mrs O and Mrs M. Very nice. very HAPPY! 09/11/03 Emily's second day of preschool. Turns out she misses because she is sick. 09/16/03 Emily had fun today in preschool. Not sure what she did there because when I asked her she said she couldn't remember! She had little boys follower her around! and I made the observation that she is the tallest in her class. She was there for only an hour and a half because I over slept! but she was ok with me leaving! She didn't notice what so ever. LoL 9/18/03 Today was a good day for Emily. She is making friends which is such an Emily thing to do. She is a lively child and other children seem to flock to her. In the car today on the way home from school she told me that her juice at school was yellow like pee! It turns out it was just Apple Juice! She was so cute. after she said that, shes like but it was pee and then she chuckles. Thats my girl. 9/23/03 Emily seemed to have a good day in class. We brought in some things that her Nana from Wisconsin gave her to bring to school. They really loved it. We have a huge list so if anyone wants to donate to it let me know! Emily brought home her second piece of artwork. Its on the fridge already! what can I say! I am so proud. She has so much going on during those 2 hours she can never remember what she did! When I picked her up yesterday she had those silly book order forms. I remember getting those in elementary school. Of course I will be ordering a few things. You can never have enough books! 9/25/03 Not much to report. Emily painted two lovely pictures today. She seems to really enjoy being at school. She talks about how a boy helped her pick up the farm she was playing with and she also sings the "icky sticky bubble gum" song over and over on her way home. She had her school screening on monday which i forgot to mention on the last entry. She passed everything that was on the test, she has 10/10 vision and she is 75% in height she is 41 inches and her weight is 80% she is 40 lbs. Thats my girl! 9/30/03 Today Emily really enjoyed school. They got to play "produce market" which was set up like a little grocery store where they could play and touch the food that was there. People brought in pumpkins and squash etc to place in the grocery store. Emily this morning brought in alittle pumpkin to add to the store. They did the train song again which I am getting the impression they do that every school day in the morning? Emily also painted 2 more pictures for me. This time she used yellow, red and orange colors. Its quite lovely. Her school is also having a fundraiser. Emily will be selling wrapping paper, gifts and treats. I have to pick up a folder Thursday for this all. This will be Emilys first fundraiser! Cool Eh?? 10/02/03 Emily had a nice time in class today. I finally picked up her fundraiser stuff. They have adorable stuff in there. I plan on ordering a few things! Emily had the produce market set up again today. She talked about the cash register and the pretend money. She even talked about the little boy who wouldnt let his mommy go home. He was hew. His first day was today. He cried for a little bit. Emily really is enjoying her time there. She doesn't look back anymore to see if I am there. She looks forward at her teacher. She is too cute. 10/07/03 Produce week is over, Emily has now started "Feelings" week. They are going to ask the kids how does it make you feel if "so and so takes your book away" and other things like that. They also learned a new song. 5 little monkeys. Emily is cute. because when they get to the part about the monkeys jumping on the bed she starts to jump up and down. She got a little picture of a bed, and 5 monkey cut out from paper so we can help her with that. Not sure the purpose of it. besides it being a counting game. 10/09/03 Well Emilys morning started out really cute. A little boy in her class named Ethan said "Hi Emily" this morning. I was shocked that he could remember her name. But when I asked Emily his, she couldn't remember? Or maybe she didn't want to remember? Typical girl! I guess during play time some little boy named Ben told her to stop following him. She told me she only wanted to play with him but I guess Ben marches to the beat of a different drummer. She painted another brilliant leaf to add to the other paintings she did. She doesn't really remember what else she did. so thats all folks! 10/14/03 Ahh a girl and scissors. They taught the children to use those lovely little tools today. I was hoping that I could go for awhile longer on teaching Emily how to use those. I am afraid that she will cut her hair like I did when I was her age! I cut a big chunk out of my bangs a few weeks before my aunts wedding. Emily also made a necklace today out of paper leaves, drinking straws and cut out pumpins. she was mad because her pumpkin came off at school. Thats about all she said today on what she did at school. All i know is that she said she had fun and thats what matters. 10/16/03 NO SCHOOL 10/21/03 Well Emily had a nice time in school today. She got to do some sort of "camping" ? No idea what they did. I did see a bucked full of sticks with Fake marshmellows on it, it was cotten balls on the ends of the sticks to look like marshmellows. i saw a few other things but I cant remember what it was? She also got to do some finger painting stuff. Nice green picture of a blob? she had green paint along her finger nailbed. It was interesting. 10/23/03 Happy Birthday Emily! She got to celebrate her birthday at school today! Earlier in the week I had made plans to bring something special for treat time and Emily had picked out 2 kinds of cookies and we brought in fruit drink box's. That seemed to be a hit since there was only one row of each cookie pack left! Emily also got to wear a crown that the teachers made and she got to decorate how she wanted it. It was really cute. She got to camp again today. She also learned.the green speckled frog on the speckled log counting game. She is also learning more on how to write her name. She spells it M E I L Y. she gets the M mixed up. She didnt tell me much more. Just that she had a nice day. haha.. 10/28/03 Emily got to do more camping today. She also did a pretty painting. They were using newspaper as their canvas. I watched alittle bit again because I think its so cute when they all start to sing. Emily does a lot of hand movements to the songs like the teacher does. They also did a story. It was called The Quiet Cricket . Emily was trying to tell me about it. Its trying to get someones attention the "nice" way. 10/30/03 The last class of the month! 2 months down! I can't believe it! She seemed to have a nice day today. She made another painting on newspaper, they talked more about feelings. She played alittle bit with her friends who are still nameless. heehee. more camping again today. She camps more then I have in my life! I finally asked what the camping thing was about. It helps with counting. They count sticks, and it teaches sharing, and how to be quiet. They have a cricket sound going that they have to listen for. Today I signed up for Fall Parent Days. I'll be going to school with her the 13th. I thought that will be pretty fun. Emily thinks its COOL! heehee 11/04/03 Emily didn't really tell me much about today. They played Animal Clinic and thats about all I know. She said she couldn't remember what they all did. Besides the usual, sing, read books, play and have snacks which was one of the things that she did tell me about. It was cereal with marshmellows I guess? Thats my girl. Always thinking with her tummy! 11/06/03 Emily stayed home from school today. 11/11/03 Emily has parent week at school today. A little boy named Ethan asked Emily to sit next to him. I thought that was cute. They have been sitting next to each other usually everytime I pick her up from school. She still is at school but I wanted to post the little boy stuff before I forget! Emily had a pretty good rest of her day. They did record player artwork today. That was pretty cool looking. 11/13/03 I went to school with Emily today! That was pretty fun. She wouldn't leave my site for all the tea in China! It was pretty cute. So for once I can actually say that I know what Emily did during school! They do A LOT of singing! The kids got to listen to the story of Polar Bear Polar Bear What Do You Hear. and they did 5 Speckled frogs sitting on a speckled log, also they were read some fish book that I didn't catch the name to! After that Emily did some watercolor painting. She had a really busy day. 11/18/03 Emily made a clay medillion (sp?) today. It was of course very wet when we picked it up. So we will have to let it dry for a few days! I had dropped off one crappy little girl today! I warned the teachers about her even. As usual though when I picked her up she was all smiles. I am not sure what she did today besides the medillion I never know how to follow her class guide since she goes two days a week. 11/20/03 She made her first chalk picture today! It ended up going to her gramma June though! I was slightly disappointed but she had promised gramma she would make her another picture in school. Which is what she did! Thats my girl! The teachers told me that Emily and another little girl Arianna spent most of play time on the tet or totter (sp?) I guess the teachers had to remind the two that its other people turn and they needed to share it. Kids! Not sure about Emily's learning today? Check the guide? 11/24/03-11/26/03 NO SCHOOL THANKSGIVING BREAK 12/02/03 Oh thank goodness the break is over with! Emily had a load of fun at school today. She painted some pictures as usual, and she has been counting a bit more items. They played resturant and waited on the kids. She didn't tell me much more, besides that they got a new kid in school and Reese made him cry. heehee 12/04/03 Emily made 3 different picture today. A snowman, A mitten and also a butterfly. She got to play with beads and what not. She seemed to have a good day at school. She didn't really tell me much more. Thats my girl! 12/09/03 Emily was alittle artist today. She made 2 pictures. One was a Tree decorated in paint dots and the other was a watercolor picture. She said that the tree was for Gramma Kathy and I got the watercolor! she is too cute. She didn't really tell me anything about what they did. So thats my entry for today! 12/11/03 Today I got more pictures from my little artist. She did another watercolor picture and a picture of a childs face sneezing into a kleenx. they are talking about germs in school so they sang the kerchoo song (see side towards top for the words to it) I also had to sign up to bring white frosting for next week. fun fun. 12/16/03 Today Emily came home with 2 pictures that she colored. I had to bring in icing for cookies that she is doing Thursday. She is really excited about the whole thing. This is her last week of school. Its going to be ALONG break for her. Not sure what else she did. Since she never tells me.. 12/18/03 Emily ended up not going to school today! she is sick 12/23/03-1/1 WINTER BREAK NO SCHOOL 1/6/04 Emily went to school today! I am glad that winter break is over. She had a fun day today. She go to pretend she was ice fishing. This will be what the week is like for her. Ice Fishing! she also saw a film called Snowy Day. 1/8/04 she missed today because she was sick 1/13/04 Emily is sick, but we sent her anyhow. She had been sick for a bit. Not much going on. More Ice Fishing. and Shape recongization 1/15/04 Emily missed school today 1/20-1/22 Emily will not be going to school this week. She has pneumonia!!!! |
