The Peaceful Mysteries

All through my life I had rarely ever prayed the Rosary. Even at school, we seldom ever prayed the Rosary. In 1995 my son and I decided to go to Lourdes. What was so beautiful was the candle light Rosary procession every evening. On this particular evening I was asked to carry the banner of our group. It was the banner of St Peter’s, and as we walked around the area the rest of the group mingled in the crowd and I was directed towards the middle and then up the stairs with my banner. I felt very proud at having been chosen as I marched to my position. When I returned home, I said I would try and pray the Rosary, but didn’t.

Over the next few months I had heard so much about Medjugorje from some friends of mine. Jim and Mary had been to Medjugorje four times and were full of praise about the place. So in June 1996 my son and I booked and went to Medjugorje. We travelled with a Scottish group who had a lady called Sheila with cerebral palsy. She gave us so much pleasure, and never complained one iota. Sheila died on the 11th November 2002 in Aberdeen. Paul Miller needs to be thanked for doing so much for all the disabled in Aberdeen.  The Rosary again prayed every evening at St. James’ was wonderful and every body walking through the fields praying the Rosary was very noticeable. When I returned home I still found it very hard to pray even one decade of the Rosary.

On the 12th December 1996 a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe was brought to our parish church.

I had never ever heard of Our Lady of Guadalupe, but that particular evening I decided to go along to a mass for the unborn. After mass the huge picture of Our Lady was brought to the front of the church. Everybody walked up and started touching and kissing the picture. So I thought I’d do the same. I got within a foot of the picture and POW!! I was hit with an unusual heat from the picture. I walked away, but the rest of the church was normal. I was looking to see if anybody else was feeling anything unusual. No! people were just walking normally around the picture. I thought, lets go and see the picture again. I again got within a few feet of Our Lady and again POW!!! The heat hit me like a bolt and was stronger and hotter. I stopped, and walked away again. This time I walked right around the church. The church was just a normal temperature. I hesitatingly walked towards the picture of Our Lady again. Again, just as I got within a few feet of Our Lady, the heat that hit me was so strong, but I walked around the picture touching it. Our Lady was radiating a heat so beautiful and strong. I rushed home and told my son. Matthew, I have never experienced such a beautiful feeling in my life. This was the start of a love affair between Our blessed Mother and my self. The day Our Lady told me she loved me.

In September 1997 I decided to go to Medjugorje on my own. The place again was very peaceful and I enjoyed praying in groups and climbing the mountains. On returning home I still didn’t pray the Rosary. Then one December morning I was walking to work and started praying one decade of the Rosary. I did this for a couple of weeks. As the months went by, I prayed two, four and five, ten and then fifteen decades of the Rosary.

I was getting up in the morning and praying the Rosary, and even whenever I had a break I was praying the Rosary. I then started feeling I had to do more for Our Lady. I asked Our Lady what else I could do for her? I was sitting in front of the computer and praying to Our Lady for inspiration. The names Our Lady of Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje and Jesus the Divine Mercy came to my mind. Also instead of the Hail Holy Queen I prayed the Memorare.

I started praying the twenty decades. Adding the faces to the names of the decades.

1st Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas.

2nd Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of Healing.

3rd Our Lady of Fatima, Mother of Penance,

4th Our Lady of Medjugorje Queen of Peace.

5th Jesus the Divine Mercy,

I prayed these twenty decades for a couple of weeks wondering whether I was doing the right thing. Whether adding these names to the Mysteries, I was doing right or wrong. I carried on praying these twenty decades also asking Our Blessed Mother to help me and let me know if I was doing right or wrong. Then one night I had the most beautiful dream. It is a dream I shall remember for the rest of my life. In my dreams appeared a big bright white cloud. It was dazzling white. Out of the cloud stretched a hand and dropped a beautiful Mother of Pearl white Rosary into my hand. It was the hand of Our Lady of Medjugorje. She was holding the Rosary and as it dropped and I stretched out my hand and held the Cross of the Rosary. I was rubbing the cross of the most beautiful white Rosary for a few minutes, and then I awoke. It made me realise that Our Lady was pleased with what I was doing.

A few weeks later I wrote to Holy Father telling him that I had been to Medjugorje and that I was going again in June 1998. I also mentioned about my dream and sent him a copy of the Peaceful Mysteries. I had forgotten about the letter. As the months went by, I came home one evening and found a letter on the mat. I opened it and found it was from the Vatican. As I read it my eyes swelled up. It had the Vatican seal and dated the 28th October 1998.

                Dear Mr Walker,

The Holy Father duly received your letter and he has directed me to reply in his name.

His Holiness wishes you to know that he appreciates the sentiments which prompted you to write to him and he invokes God’s blessings upon you and your family.

                                                Yours sincerely

                                Monsignor Pedro Lopez Quintana.

The Vatican I believe rarely ever replies. To reply to a letter telling the Holy Father that I had been to Medjugorje and giving him a copy of the Peaceful Mysteries, I was so over come that I kept reading the letter over and over again. I framed the letter and it has pride of place in the dining room, for all to see.

A week after I returned from Medjugorje in October 1998 I thought I should learn the Hail Mary in Croatian. So when I returned to Medjugorje I could pray the rosary with them. I was praying the Rosary in English, Latin and Croatian.

One day at work I was serving a customer, when a voice inside me said, “ASK THEM FOR THE HAIL MARY?” I thought to myself, I’m at work I can’t ask them for the prayer. I don’t know if they are Catholic or not. The voice said to me, “DON’T YOU WANT THE HAIL MARY?” I looked either side of me to see if anybody was looking, and quietly passed a note under the glass inquiring if the customer knew the Hail Mary in any other language but English.  Yes! she replied and gave me the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be Swahili. Then as the weeks went by, I started getting the Hail Mary in languages I had never heard of  Kikuku, Lingala, Ewe, Kikongo. The languages were coming quick and fast.

I started Praying the Peaceful Mysteries in all the different languages. As more of the languages kept coming I started praying the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries in Languages.  I start the day praying the twenty decades all in languages. I have even given people the Sri Lankan, Chinese, and Italian Our Father and Hail Mary to people who have forgotten to pray them. I realise Our Lady has given me the languages to teach people to pray again. My motto is, “I will pray for you, but I would much rather pray with you.” The languages have come from The Bishop of the Philippines to the young African boys. A Muslim man who heard me saying it in Indonesian, said,” I understand what you are saying and can translate it for you into Javaneses. He even accepted a Rosary from me. To day I give away Peaceful Rosaries over the counter at the Post Office where I work. People of all nationalities and religions who do not know of my beliefs, come and tell me their problems. I tell them I will pray for them. I then put my hand out and offer them a Rosary. Every Rosary I have given away tells a story. Only one person refused a Rosary, a Catholic.

When I went to Medjugorje, I went to a lady and asked her to make me a “twenty decade” rosary. She looked at me in amazement. Regina told me that the rosary was the life of Our Lord and Our Lady. I showed her the Peaceful Mysteries. She read it and told me to go for a walk and come back before the evening rosary. She made me the most beautiful Rosary. While walking and praying at Blue Cross my Rosary went gold. Another sign from Our Lady.

So the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Peaceful Mysteries are all in the life of Our Lord and Our Lady. They are from the:

Joyful: “Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple, Finding of Our Lord in the Temple.

Sorrowful: Agony in the garden, Scourging at the pillar, Crowning with thorns, the carrying of the Cross and Crucifixion, and Death of Our Lord.

Glorious: Resurrection, Ascension, Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles. The Assumption  and Coronation of Our Blessed Mother in Heaven.

Luminous: “Mysteries of Light” :- The Baptism of Jesus, Miracle at the Wedding at Cana, Proclamation of the Kingdom, Transfiguration, Institution of the Eucharist.

Peaceful: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Medjugorje and Jesus the Divine Mercy.

In June 2000 I was praying the 20 decades of the rosary in front of the Statue of Our Lady. It was early about 7.am. It was peaceful, with not many people around. I had just completed praying the 20 decades in languages and just sat there. Suddenly a voice in side me said, “Could you do the Divine Mercy in languages?” I looked around there was no  one there. I thought to myself. What a big job. Then thought again, with God all things are possible. Later on I was walking and met a lady who gave me a picture of the Divine Mercy in French. Later that day I received a picture of the Divine Mercy in German. To day I have the Divine Mercy in several languages. About three months ago I joined the internet and now hope that I can spread Our Lady’s message to the world.

In 1999 I had a twenty decade Rosary made for the Holy Father in Medjugorje. I kept wondering how to send it to him. I kept looking for a Priest or Bishop who would do me the honours and take the Rosary for me. Then towards the end of June 2002 a voice inside me told me to post the Rosary to his Holiness.

On the 11th July 2002 I wrote a letter to the Holy Father and asked him to accept my gift of the twenty decade Rosary. Also telling him again about the Peaceful Mysteries and the wonderful Graces Our Lady had bestowed on me. The Rosary has a medal of Our Lady of Medjugorje in the middle and the Crucifix is the Cross of the Holy Father.

On the 25th July I received a letter dated 22nd July from the Vatican:

                Dear Mr Walker,

The Holy Father has received your letter and gift and has directed

me to reply in his name.

His Holiness appreciates the sentiments which prompted you to

write and he will remember you in his prayers.

                                                                      Yours sincerely,

                                                  Monsignor Pedro Lopez Quintana

                                                                                                 Assessor

I was absolutely over the moon. To have received one letter from the Vatican was amazing. To have received two, I was lost for words. Especially as Medjugorje has not yet been accepted by the Church and both my letters and the Rosary has contents about Medjugorje.

Then in November the Holy Father issues the “LUMINOUS MYSTERIES” or “THE MYSTERIES OF LIGHT”

So I would like to thank all the people from the ordinary lad to the Priest and Bishops who have given, emailed or sent me by post all the languages of the Rosary and the Divine Mercy. Most of all I would like to thank Our Blessed Mother for all the Graces she has bestowed on me from Jesus.
