President 2004/2005
IATSS Forum Alumni Association Malaysia

Minasan,

Alumni members,

We were all privileged to have been given a chance of a lifetime to experience life at IATSS Forum and to really sink ourselves in every aspect of the Japanese way of life. Each of us has returned from Suzuka with unique experiences that have, in one way or another made an impact to our lives.

It has been almost two years since my return from Suzuka and my experience there has not only helped me foster closer friendship with my overseas counterparts but has also extended to me being involved in the alumni association. As the alumni may be aware, the association was set up to enable returning participants to share the valuable experiences and lessons gained during their time at IATSS and to contribute towards the development of our society and community. On that note, I wish to call upon all alumni to join and to contribute ideas to the association. It would be a big loss if the knowledge and experiences gained were not directed to good causes.
Being new to this position, it will prove to be a tough task matching up with the past Presidents and committee members of the alumni and I hope for your continued guidance and support to the new committee. I am lucky to be supported by a very enthusiastic and dynamic team this year whom I’m sure will be the driving force of the coming activities we have planned for the coming year.

The committee's strategy for the term 2004/06 will be to focus on activities that will allow us to not only meet up socially but also to be more involved with the community as well as looking into more travel opportunities to visit our IATSS friends in other ASEAN coutries. We have already lined up a few activities to look forward to, including the 4th IAM, to be held in Suzuka, Japan and coinciding with the 20th anniversary of IATSS Forum, working with the underprivileged as well as to rekindle friendship tours with one or two of our ASEAN counterpart.

Last but not least, I would like to strongly encourage fellow alumni to get involved in our activities and look forward to seeing you all soon.

Ja Mata
