Samual was the son of Edward 2 Luck (1806-1890) and Jane Elphinstone.(1815-1902)

Edward 2nd owned Lot 16 Conc. 1 Oro, on the Penetangueshene Road. He taught school at Crown Hill.
Edward 2nd had at least one sister, Anne (1800-1880) who married Charles Partridge
Samual's grandparents Edward Luck 1st and his wife Martha came from Albany New York in 1820.
Mary Hannah was baptised on 5 Jun 1848 at St. James Anglican church in Orillia
She married Samual at Jarratt in 1870.
She died in 1926 and is buried in A.O.U.W. Cemetery in Pulman City, Washington State.

Harold was working on a building being constructed, and fell 30 feet to the street. He died three months later.

Arthur stayed on the home place. Mary Ellen died in 1932, at 50.
He then married Susanna (Rix)Graham. After her death, Arthur married Bertha Elllis. They lived out west at Wetaskewin were Arthur died in 1949.

They farmed at Jarratt Lot 1 Concession 11 Medonte.
Known for his hearty laugh, hard work, and good nature Bill was a well liked member of the community.
He used lumber from the "Castle of Jarratt" to build his house.
He is buried in St. Andrews/St James Cemetary in Orillia.
Mary Ethel (1906-1973) married Percy Oakley (1903-1984)
Ethel was a school teacher at Jarratt among other places. They had the store at Jarratt that their son Russell (1929-1984)looked after.

Oscar Rix (1908-1990) married Janet Middleton (1907-1984)
Rix had a barber shop in Orillia. He also had a farm at Carly with a stocked trout pond. Two of their sons, Clifford (1939-1991) and Reginald (1931-1996)served in the armed forces.
They are all buried at Fairvalley.
Hilton Arthur (1909-1986) married Winnifred Lorraine Clayton (1914-1995)
He farmed the homestead property. He was known for a good sense of humour and story telling.
A group of retired gentlemen used to gather for coffee and conversation at the local restaurant.
He was a charter member of this group some wag had dubbed the we won't work club.
Most of them had already done a lifetime of work anyway.
While travelling through the U.S. we stopped at a small restaurant in a farming community. The charactors and conversation were the same.
Made me feel right at home.

Edna Louise (1919-1975) married Harry Thompson
He was in the armed forces. Among other things they owned a farm,and business in Orillia. Their son Donald (1932-1946)died in a farm accident.
They are buried at Gamebridge.
James 5th (1912-1987) married Isobel Onetta Dugan.
He was a carpenter and worked during the war on the Mosquito bomber and other wooden airplanes.
Isobel's grandparents, Joe and Mary Burnham farmed at Jarrat, and John and Nell Dugan, her parents purchased the farm across from the Beard homestead.
James and Isobel farmed at Jarratt, and he contracted masonry and carpentry work.
