Money to be Returned for a Potter's Field
|
|
Zec. 11:13
And the Lord said to me, "Throw it to the
potter"-that princely price they set on me. So I
took the thirty pieces of silver and threw
them into the house of the Lord for the potter.
(NKJV)
|
|
Mt. 27:3-10
Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had
been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the
thirty pieces of silver to the chief prists and
elders, saying, "I have sinned by betraying
innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to
us? You see to it!" Then he threw down the pieces
of silver in the temple and departed, and went and
hanged himself. But the chief priests took the
silver pieces and said, "It is not lawful to put
them into the tresury, because they are the price
of blood." And they took counsel and bought with
them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
Therefore that field has been called the Field of
Blood to this day. Then was fulfilled what was
spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And
they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value
of Him who was priced, whom they of the
children of Israel priced, and gave them for the
potter's field, as the Lord directed me."

Judas' Office to be Taken by Another
|
|
Ps. 109:7,8
When he is judged, let him be found guilty, and
let his prayer become sin. Let his days be few,
and let another take his office. (NKJV)
|
|
Acts 1:16-20
"Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be
fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by
the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a
guide to those who arrested Jesus; for he was
numbered with us and obtained a part in this
ministry." (Now this man purchased a field with the
wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst
open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
And it became known to all those dwelling in
Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own
language, Akel Dama, that is Field of Blood.) For
it is written in the book of Psalms: 'Let his
habitation be desolate, and let no one live in
it': and 'Let another take his office.'

False Witnesses Accuse Him
|
|
Ps. 27:12;
Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
for false witnesses have risen against me (NKJV)
Ps. 35:11
Fierce witnesses rise up; they ask me
things that I do not know. (NKJV)
|
|
Mt. 26:59-65
Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the
council sought false testimony against Jesus to put
Him to death, but found none. Even though many
false witnesses came forward, they found none. But
at last two false witnesses came forward and said,
"This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the
temple of God and to build it in three days.'" And
the high priest arose and said to Him, "Do you
answer nothing? What is it that these men
testify against You?" But Jesus kept silent. And
the high priest answered and said to Him, "I adjure
You by the living God that You tell us if You are
the Christ, the Son of God." Jesus said to him, "If
is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you,
hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at
the right hand of the Power, and coming on the
clouds of heaven." Then the high priest tore his
clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! What
further need do we have to witnesses? Look, now you
have heard His blasphemy! (NKJV)

Meekness of Christ
|
|
Ps. 38:13,14;
But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; and
I am like a mute who does not open
his mouth. Thus I am like a man who does not hear,
and in whose mouth is no respone. (NKJV)
Is. 42:2;
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
(NKJV)
Isa. 53:7
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He
opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is
silent, so He opened not His mouth. (NKJV)

... (NKJV)
Mt. 27:12-14;
And while He was being accused by the chief
priests and the elders, He answered nothing. Then
Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many

him not one word, so that the governor marveled
greatly. (NKJV)
Mk. 15: 1-5;
Immediately, in the morning, the chief priests
held a consultation with the elders and scribes and
the whole council; and they bound Jesus, led
Him away, and delivered Him to
Pilate. Then Pilate asked Him, "Are You the King of
the Jews?" And He answered and said to him, "It is
as you say." And the chief priests accused Him of
many things, but He answered nothing. Then Pilate
asked Him again, saying, "Do You answer nothing?
See how many things they testify against You!" But
Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate
marveled. (NKJV)
Lu. 23:8,9;
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly
glad; for he had desired for a long time to
see Him, because he had heard many things about
Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him.
They he questioned Him with many words, but He
answered him nothing. (NKJV)
Jn. 8:6;This they
said, testing Him, that they might have
something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus
stooped down and wrote on the ground with
His finger, as though He did not hear.
(NKJV)

| Sheep will Scatter
|
|
Ps. 31:11,12;
I am a reproach among all my enemies, but
especially among my neighbors, and am
repulsive to my acquaintances; those who see me
outside flee from me. I am forgotten like a dead
man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. (NKJV)
Ps. 142:4;
Look on my right hand and see, for
there is no one who acknowledges me; refuge
has failed me; no one cares for my soul. (NKJV)

I gave My back to those who plucked out the
beard; I did not hide My face from shame and
spitting. (NKJV)
|
|
Mk. 14:65;
Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold
Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him,
"Prophesy!" And the officers struck Him with the
palms of their hands. (NKJV)
Mk. 15:17-19;
And they clothed Him with purple; and they

with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee,
they worshipped Him. (NKJV)

Him. And the soldiers twisted a crown of

Christ Would Suffer as a Servant
|
|
Is. 53:10-12;
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has
put Him to grief. When You make His soul an
offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He
shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of
the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see
the travail of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify
nmanyh, for He shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the
great, and He shall divide Him the spoil with the
strong, because He poured out His soul unto death,
and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He
bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the
transgressors. (NKJV)
Zec. 12:10;
"And I will pour on the house of David and on
the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace
and supplication; then they will look on Me whom
they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one
mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him
as one grieves for a firstborn. (NKJV)
|
|
Mk. 8:31;
And He began to teach them that the Son of Man
must suffer many things, and be rejected by the
elders and chief priests and scribes, and be
killed, and after three days rise again. (NKJV)
Lu. 22:37;
"For I say to you that this which is written
must still be accomplished in Me: 'And He was
numbered with the transgressors.' For the
things concerning Me have an end." (NKJV)
Lu. 24:7,26,46;
verse 7: "saying, 'The Son of Man must be
delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be
crucified, and the third day rise again.'" (NKJV)
verse 46: Then He said to them, "Thus it is
written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ
to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
(NKJV)
Jn. 3:14;
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted
up, (NKJV)
Acts 3:18;
"But those things which God foretold by the
mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would
suffer, He has thus fulfilled. (NKJV)
Acts 26:23
"that Christ would suffer, that He would be the
first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim
light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."
(NKJV)

Jesus Christ Crucified, Parted his Garments by Casting
Lots
|
|
Ps. 22:18
They divide My garments among them, and for My
clothing they cast lots. (NKJV)
|
|
Mt. 27:35;
Then they crucified Him, and divided His
garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by the prophet: "They divided
My garments among them, and for My clothing they
cast lots." (NKJV)
Jn. 19:23,24
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified
Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to
each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the
tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one
piece. They said therefore among themselves, "Let
us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it
shall be," that the Scripture might be fulfilled
which says: "They divided My garments among
them, and for My clothing they cast lots."
Therefore the soldiers did these things. (NKJV)

Hands and Feet Pierced
|

For dogs have surrounded Me; the assembly of the
wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and
My feet; (NKJV)
Zec. 12:10
"......; then they will look on Me whom they
have pierced; ..... (NKJV)
|
|
Jn. 19:37;
And again another Scripture says, "They shall
look on Him whom they pierced." (NKJV)
Jn. 20:25-27
Then other disciples therefore said to
him(Thomas), "We have seen the Lord." But he
said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print
of the nails, and put my finger into the print of
the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will
not believe." And after eight days His disciples
were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus
came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst,
and said, "Peace to you!" Then He said to Thomas,
"Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and
reach your hand here, and put it into
My side. Do not be unbelieving , but believing."
(NKJV)

Mocked and Insulted
|
|
Ps. 22:6-8
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach
of men, and despised of the people. All those who
see Me laugh Me to scorn; they shout out the lip,
they shake the head, saying, "He trusted in
the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him,
since He delights in Him!"
|
|
Mt. 27:39-44;
And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging
their heads and saying, "You who destroy the temple
and build it in three days, save Yourself!
If You are the Son of God, come down from the
cross." Likewise the chief priests, also mocking
with the scribes and elders, said, "He saved
others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King
of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross,
and we will believe Him, He trusted in God; let Him
deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said,
'I am the Son of God.'" Even the robbers who were
crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.
(NKJV)
Mk. 15:29-32
And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging
their heads and saying, "Aha! You who destroy the
temple and build it in three days, save Yourself,
and come down from the cross!" Likewise the chief
priests also, together with the scribes, mocked and
said among themselves, "He saved others; Himself He
cannot save. Let the Christ, the King of Israel,
descend now from the cross, that we may see and
believe." And those who were crucified with Him
reviled Him. (NKJV)
