THURSDAY
Our
last day in London. Today we
got up early and went out to the Tower of London.
That was a really long walk too.
It was a huge place. We
got to see the crown jewels and some of the places where prisoners were
held. We also go to see some
of the ancient weapons and armor. When
you see this stuff it is amazing to think this is how they lived.
It was next to impossible to walk on the cobblestone streets, still
the original stuff, and the buildings were so hard to negotiate.
The stairs were steep and narrow and they had spiral stairs in
almost every one. I only went
up one and I am glad. They
were not easy to do.
After this we went back to Harrods yet again for one last trip.
We bought some CD’s and other things.
It was sad to leave it for the last time.
I really liked going there. I
thought it would be really expensive but it wasn’t any worse than
American stores of better quality. Kind
of like Macy’s. But you can
get everything you could ever want at Harrod’s including food.
Tonight we booked a Medievel dinner and show.
We thought it would be fun but it turned out to be a nightmare.
It was in a converted wine cellar with little ventilation.
And they don’t have no smoking laws there.
We were stuck at a table where this man was smoking a stogie.
When Arlen asked him to put it down he refused.
Really rude!! We ended
up leaving before it was over. We
ate dinner and then left. Our
clothes reaked and it made our suitcases smell too.
We had to get them cleaned when we got home. Oh well, a lesson learned.

Be careful. They bite. (I found out the
