Piedmont Triad Prop Twisters started around 1979 with five members and

ran just about anywhere we could.  Most of the boats were tunnel hulls with

just a couple of mono's. We finally found a permanent spot at one of

Benbow's lakes south of Greensboro around 1991.  We ran there for one

summer and then moved up to a pond in Brown Summit until 1997. From 1992 to

1999 our club membership grew from the five members to around 30 and had

just about every class of power boats there was.  In 1994 we started the

North Carolina Championship Series which we are still running today.  We

went from just the registered North Carolina clubs to an open race where

everyone was welcome to come who is an IMPBA member.

In 1997 we moved from the Green's pond to a much larger one in Walnut

Cove north of Greensboro. This turned out to be the best move for the club,

we now had enough room for people to park.

Our membership today is 21. We run 7 races starting in April thru Oct.

We run 20,40, 60 Mono & Hydro Nitro's as well as Gas Classes (SS to

Modifieds).
