Geothermal Heat Pumps, SCADA Systems and other HVAC Techs
For the purpose of Building Energy Saving, following research works have been carried out:
  Developed a special
test rig, for evaluating heat transfer performance for various geothermal heat exchangers. The test rig has been equiped with the capacity of data acquisition, automatic control, and performance analysis. It can carry out thermal responding tests in both cooling mode and heating mode under a required water circulation rate and a thermal load.

Testing bore hole heat exchangers.
  T
esting surface water heat exchangers, for a library heat pump project.
  Studying
radiative ceiling air conditioning systems,
  Studying
radiative floor air conditioning systems.
  Developed
HVAC SCADA systems to monitor and to optimize the operation.

Research Works On Zeotropic Refrigerants For Energy Saving
In Leeds University, developed an energy saving noval air conditioning/heat pumping system using zeotropic refrigerants, research work including:
  Developed a simulation programme;
  Developed a novel expansion valve;
  Developed a novel evaporator;
  Developed a novel condenser.
Built an air conditioning test rig, which employed two air flow tunnels, a data acquisition system and instrumentation. Energy saving of about 35% was obtained with the novel air conditioning/heat pumping system using the candidate zeotrope compared with R22.
The novelty was patented and won the
Lightfoot Medal from the Refrigeration Institute in the 1992-1993 session.

Research Works On Zeotropic Refrigerantl Behaviour

  Developed models to calculate concentration behaviour for a zeotropic refrigerant;
  Carried out concentration simulation for 3 zeotropic refrigerants;
