Kabbalah Meditations & Resources From the Kabbalah Centre's book 72 Names of God by Yehuda Berg |
Weekly Meditations (from Kabbalah Centre's Conciousness Tune-Ups) May 30 – June 5, 2004 Finish What You Start |
Do you always finish everything you start? If you are like most of us, the answer is probably no. Even the most successful, motivated people among us have at least one area in our lives that remains unresolved. While the easy explanation that this phenomenon is, ”human nature” is true, kabbalists ask why is it part of our nature in the first place. What does procrastination have to teach us? You know the routine: you start a new endeavor and you’re excited and optimistic. However, challenges — both external and self-imposed — inevitably pop up and derail you from manifesting your best intentions. You procrastinate, you postpone — and your passion wanes. Internal obstacles include fear, frustration, forgetfulness, doubt, and laziness. The external challenges come in all shapes and sizes – a flat tire, missed phone calls, computer crashes. However, they are only a test. Kabbalists explain that whenever you hit a “brick wall,” if you push through it, you will find that most often, it is merely a soft and cushy curtain cleverly disguised to look like a brick wall — just to keep you from even trying to pass through! It is a spiritual law of the universe that the fulfillment you are searching for is always concealed before it is revealed. It’s up to you to strive to uncover this fulfillment. But don’t take my word for it. Look back on your life. What are your most fulfilling moments? Undoubtedly they are instances when you overcame some sort of obstacle. And I am sure the bigger the obstacle was, the bigger the reward was. Am I right? That is because the amount of goodness that is waiting to be revealed is always equal to how much resistance you will face. This week, take to heart the following adage, “the Light helps those who help themselves.” Just like the electricity in your home, the Light is ever-present. All you need do is plug into it in order to receive its support. The combination of taking physical action while using the tools of Kabbalah is how you plug in. And when you do plug in, you will see the obstacles melt before your eyes. Meditating on the 72 Name below will awaken your desire to convert your thoughts and plans into action and results.
