And….Action!

What do you think about when you go to sleep? If you are like most of us, you probably review your day and plan what your next day will be like: what you are going to wear, what you have to do, people you need to call.

When you fall asleep, there is a gap for your soul to recharge and then (what feels like a minute later) boom - your alarm goes off and you're thrown back into reality.

This week, the alarming is ringing and it's time to start not only your day but time to restart your life.

For weeks now, if you've been reading these Tune-Ups and participating in the holidays, you've been reviewing your life and planning the year to come.

This week, it's time to start working your plan.

It's a little overwhelming, no? If you are like me, you have a long list of things you want to accomplish and change this year. All of those wishes are creating external pressure on you right now. Get in shape, change jobs, get better friends, be more considerate, stop feeling entitled, no more feeling sorry for yourself, be more responsible, and so on.

So how do you get started?

For an answer we can look to the words of
The Zohar. In speaking of waking in the morning, literally, it recommends to jump out of bed 'like a tiger' the moment you awake, to seize the day with a burst of positive energy. This is not easy, as our natural inclination is to wallow in the narcosis of sleep, to hit the snooze button, and lastly to begrudgingly get out of bed.

However,
The Zohar reveals that how you wake up affects your energy the whole day. It also affects how the Light deals with you that day. If you keep hitting the snooze button, wanting five more minutes, then the Light will do that to you. You'll end up waiting five minutes for cabs, or for meetings, etc.

This week, in addition to practicing “the tiger” method of waking up in the morning, use this consciousness of excitement throughout the day.

The word for this week is DO! Now is the time to manifest new things - physical things.

The power that could be brought in this week is enormous, but it's also going to be difficult.

What is happening is you are experiencing the huge gap between your desire, the things you planned for in your movie at Rosh Hashanah, vs. what actually is. There is a big difference between making plans and making them happen in physical reality - the actual “living.”

What you need to do is eliminate the space between your desires and manifested reality. You can eliminate this space by taking action.

Typically, because of your own inaction, worthy goals and daring dreams never materialize. You procrastinate. You lose your passion. Or you simply give up. Your best ideas remain unrealized hopes. Your thoughts never become actualized.

The spiritual work over the past few weeks was just that - spiritual. The real work takes place here in the material dimension. You need to follow through and “close the deal.”

You will get tested a lot. You will think you can't handle things. While you want to have it all, deep down you still might think it's not for you.

Don't buy into it. You were meant to have it all.
So get to it. Jump into your life, and execute your plans - one step at a time.

All the Best,
Yehuda Berg
