BEEF: is it what's for dinner? Burgers, steaks, even stir fry, we all love beef.. but how much is enough? It's hard to tell the difference between a 4oz burger , and one that weighs 6oz.. Yet it is a 215 Calorie difference! This week, cut down on the size of your portion to meet the STANDARD portion sizes... A calorie chart and food scale may help.. and once you get used to what a "serving " looks like, you can ditch the scale and "play it by ear.". or eye that is! A 5oz werving of beef is aproximately the size and thickness of a regular deck of cards or if you can "picture it" the size and thickness of the patty on a quarter-pounder or whopper! Not as big as you'd think!. |
