Ice Cream Consumer Dinning Facts

Consumers purchase dessert 6.8 times out of 10 when dining out.

66% of consumers share their dessert for 2 main reasons;

Too full for a whole dessert

Enjoy the social aspect of sharing & enjoying

Consumers who share dessert often, tend to be female, married, with high incomes.

Consumers average 4 restaurant visits per year just for desserts.

63% of consumers leave a restaurant to have dessert elsewhere.

Out of that group, 88% went to an ice cream shop or had ice cream.

Over 50% of consumers made their decision to have dessert after a meal while looking at a dessert menu or table tent.

Two thirds of consumers said that having on the menu would improve their perception of the restaurant, & influence them to have dessert.

Häagen-Dazs ice cream is considered a "super premium" having a higher amount of fat content, and lower amount of "overrun" (air) than other categories of ice cream.

What does "Overrun" do?:

Changes the density of the product; making it lighter in weight for a give volume

Changes eating texture (more air = fluffier; less air = creamier texture)

Affects the temperature and taste sensation of the product; the more air the less cold sensation.

A tub of ice cream with less air will yield more product than a tub of ice cream with higher "pumped in" air, partially do to the compression of scooping.

Fat in ice cream can come from fresh, frozen or dried cream, butter or vegetable fat. The Häagen-Dazs  manufacturing process starts with fresh cream, which is the highest quality. The more fat, the creamier the ice cream.

 

Häagen Dazs ice cream products are made with all natural ingredients that could be found in your kitchen or restaurant cabinet:

Häagen-Dazs Vanilla: Fresh cream, fresh skim milk, cane sugar, yolk of egg, natural vanilla.

Other ice creams can contain: Vanilla Extract or stated "natural flavor or flavorings", Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Dextrose, Carob Bean, mono- and diglycerides, cellulose gum, polysorbate 80 and the list goes on!

All Häagen-Dazs products are kosher.
