| Early Morning Solitude I watched the sun come up this morning Just as it does every morning Most of the time I take it as a given But today I started thinking My thoughts started linking I know for taking it fro granted I will be forgiven I take it for granted because for nearly 50 years It has always been there to erase the night’s tears To God above for the sun, thanks I am given’ For the more I thought about that sun To God the more my mind did run As the sun came up in magnificent splendor I am about to walk in waters unknown I am crossing unseen boundaries into God’s zone I only hope that him and you can over look my lack of knowledge The rising sun to me is an unspoken promise from God I do not mean this to read like a façade I am just writing what came it me in my early morning solitude The rising sun comes up every morning Always without warning To erase the darkness of night Just like the other Son that I have taken for granted With me I am sure he is disenchanted For I have lives my life, my way, not his For just as the clouds hide from my sight the sun The devil hides from my heart the Son But I know that both are always there for you and me Like the wind that uncovers the sun Early morning solitude uncovers the Son Showing me an unspoken promise from God So Lord on high I give unto to you thanks for this day I give you thanks for allowing me the blessings of the new day For I know that this time was not promised but given I want to wish a great day to everyone Even to the ones that time has erased from memory But that were brought back while talking to a new friend Thank you Sarah for waking those memories Thank you Lord for bringing a new friend into my life She is one special lady Just as the lady is special Of who the memories were Lord, I have but one request For myself I ask nothing For as I watched the rising sun I realize that I need nothing more than your Son My request of you Lord Is to give my friends the kind of day That you have given to me Lord watch over them You know we all need a guiding hand From time to time Thank you, Lord icyheart |
