Part I: General Information

Name: I am the queen of pink lollipops! But if you really want to, call me Ida.

Email Address: IdaMBK@hotmail.com . How creative...

Part II: Character Information

Character Name: Hanadokino Otome. In the traditionel sense of Sailormoon names, this means ”Young lady of the flowering season”.
And there is no ”the” in it. Nope. It was there before, but then it went on holiday, I swear! I used this dictionary as a reference.

Character Position: Sailor Ceres, senshi of flowers, gardener of the Crystal Moon conservatory and self-proclaimed leader of the asteroid senshi.
Do not touch her flowers.

Birthday and Age: April 23rd (Sakura day!) 2999 at 7 PM, making her a 13 years old Taurus with a Scorpio moon and Scorpio rising.

As quoted from Mooncatsastrology.com:

”Ruled by earthy, romantic Venus, Taurus seeks stability and calm security. She is not easily moved, yet is she constantly moving toward greener pastures. The Taurus desires comfort, beauty, serenity, luxury, sensuality, security and loyalty. Any changes must be slow and gradual – no sudden moves or watch out for some stamping and snorting!

Taurus is associated with the throat. Most people with Taurus prominent have a deep, powerful or melodious voice. She has an ear for music, an eye for artistic and natural beauty, and an appreciation for all things conductive to luxury, comfort and romance.

The Taurus has no difficulties voicing her desires. The need to feel safe and secure is so pronounced that the Taurus native is often associated with money, banking, business and trade. While accumulating wealth and beautiful things may be a priority, the focus is usually on quality rather than quantity.

Whether a person, place or thing, Taurus is always deeply devoted to the object of her desire. It is very hard to move the Taurus from her chosen path, as she has a stubbon determination and patience over time”.

Moon:

”The woman with Moon in Scorpio is intensely emotional. She craves passion and powerful experiences. She expresses her feelings in a big way, yet may be secretive about what's really on her mind. She knows exactly what is going on with you. Moon in Scorpio is very intuitive and sensitive to those around her. She needs loyalty from friends, and sensual or spiritual experiences to keep her happy. She will reward you with her great devotion and understanding.”

Rising:

”Scorpio rising sees the world as a place where she can make a powerful impression. She strives to have a meaningful influence on her friends and family. She is fascinated with people and places that convey a sense of power, transcendence or sexuality. Scorpio rising has a look of intensity about her, and she might even be intimidating.

Scorpio rising is here to model bravery, loyalty and transcendence.”

Profile:

Bloodtype: B. ”People with B blood are the most practical of the blood groups. They are specialists in what they do. When they start a project, they spend extra time understanding and trying to follow directions than others might. When they are doing something, all their attention is focused on it. They tend to stick to a goal and follow it through to the end, even if it seems impossible. They tend to be less than cooperative, as they like to follow their own rules and their own ideas. They are individualists. B type people pay attention to their thoughts a little more then their feelings, and can therefore sometimes seem cold and serious”, according to Doujiart.com.

Likes:

Flowers: Okay, so this was a no-brainer. As the senshi of flowers and the gardener of the conservatory, Otome is almost required to like flowers. While the other senshi relax with their video games, Otome likes to spend her time taking care of the garden flowers. And she does care, be assured of that! Otome nurses the flowers like babies (okay, she makes Dema nurse them), and she is extremely protective of them. I warn you, don't touch anything before asking for permission. She likes to sneak around behind bushes and attack anyone daring to mess up her carefully planted flowers. You really need to be careful before you pick a flower or step down anything as long as Otome is around. Of course, this strange behavior isn't exactly good for the cooperation between the senshi, as the person attacked will often be quite mad at Otome afterwards, and the peace of the garden suffers quite a lot from the fear of being attacked every next second. The only person Otome will allow to break her rules is princess Kiyomi, who she admires dearly.
By the way, she adores all sorts of flowers and will most likely decorate her room with them as she wake up.

Being ladylike: Otome is into the lady stuff. Yeah! She loves to stride around in huge dresses and speak like a 19th century English(wo)man, and she adores all sorts of long forgotten mannerisms. She loves tea drinking and flower arrangements, and she makes a great fuss out of walking around saying things like ”oh, how incredibly terrible!” or ”what a wonderful little flower!”, of course with a faked british high society accent. Otome will be very hurt if anyone laughs at her while she does her ”lady” thing, but like a true lady, she will show it by fainting. This girl faints a lot. Of course, she isn't doing the ”lady” thing all the time, it is more like a hobby for her. Most of the time, she will act pretty normal, though still a bit ladylike.

The Victorian era: This of course ties in with the above. Otome imagines the Victorian era as the time where women were women and men were men, and everyone behaved nicely. She is interested in practically any aspect of this period of time, from dresscode over manners to literature, and she tries to mimic it all the best she can. Otome enjoys writing strange Victorian poems on replications of century-old cards and send them to her friends, who will be more than confused. Heck, the poor kids possibly never had anything but emails! Otome dwells in mimicking the Victorian style of dress into her own creations as well (this girl sew her own clothes), though she always ends up with some strange mix of Victorian and Crystal Tokyo styles. She also likes to dig up long forgotten (and completely strange) mannerisms, and will be quite offended if, for example, Hawk's Eye doesn't pull out her chair for dinner. She considers herself his partner as they are both captains, and might even have a crush on the poor guy, by the way.
Otome has often openly complained that she wasn't awaken in, say, 1879, and now she's stuck in this dreaded age where nobody has respect for anyone anymore. Yeah, she's like an old lady in that aspect.

Getting respect: ”You better treat me with respect, or else...”.
Otome takes it for given that anyone (other than Kiyomi, of course) treats her with the respect a lady deserves. With respect, she basically means curtsey to her and do everything she demands them to, which most of the other senshi and guardians obviously doesn't agree with her about being all right. She also expects people to respond to her strange mannerisms, more commonly known among the others as her ”secret codes”, in the exact right way. If she isn't treated as she demands, Otome will be very offended. Needless to say, she spend most of her time getting offended...

Luxury: Otome is a sucker for luxury. Be it clothes, furniture or just simple service, she wants and need it. Give her something she would regard ”crap”, and she'll complain endlessly. Otome likes everything that can be considered luxurious, and she will by no means be satisfied with the average. She is a lady, and she deserves the best. This also gives quite a good insight on what her room will be furnished with. Otome feels most at home when she's surrounded by expensive items, wearing expensive dresses, and served by everyone around her. Looks doesn't mean as much as price, though she will definitely prefer heavy Victorian chairs over strange designed tables from the 21st century.

Formal occasions: If there is stick food and random chit-chat, Otome is in. To her, a formal occasion is the perfect way to show off her style in dresses and perfect manners. And scare everyone away. Otome really doesn't understand why official guests and ambassadors seems to give her such strange looks when she slides down the dance floor in her pretty Queen Victoria-dresses, greeting everyone with a curtsey of the 19th century and a perfectly british ”Have a nice day”. Luckily, more experienced ambassadors are able to help the newcomers get over their chock.

Princess Kiyomi: Because her devotion for Kiyomi is very formal, Otome could go for being one of those people the princess hates, only... not. Though she does see Kiyomi as some sort of honored high queen, Otome is actually showing her love for the person Kiyomi by acting like this. It might be hard to understand at first, but Otome shows her affection for Kiyomi by treating her as she would like to be treated herself. She believes that her princess deserves the best, and since she herself can't imagine anything better than to be treated like a lady, this is how she treats Kiyomi. The first time Otome met her princess, she treated her with respect simply because she is the princess, but as she has learned to know her, Otome has started admiring Kiyomi for her personality rather than her status. She really does admire the self-assured and mannered pink princess, the only person on the Crystal Moon Otome would never call childlike. Otome fiercely loyal to her princess. She is the only person she will take orders from, and she is ready to sacrifice herself for her.

Hawk's Eye: Surely, Otome's world wouldn't be perfect without a Prince Charming. In lack of any other males (except for bloody Elios who managed to hurt her treasured princess), Otome has laid her affection on poor Hawk's Eye. Aside from the fact that both of them are team captains and thereby, in her mind, partners, she likes the guy for his apparent maturity. She surely has a crush, but Otome is determined that he should be the one to ask her out, not reverse, that really isn't appropriate for a lady. She really wish the guy would look up from his crossword and realize what a magnificent creature she is, but girl – that just ain't gonna happen. Since Otome has decided to like Zora, she will be very mad at him when he doesn't act like her fairytale prince, i.e. being childlike or too old man-ish, which is most of the time. She would really like him to follow her strange Victorian dating rules with all sorts of formalities, but the poor guy won't of course have any change to know what she expects of him, or even that she has a crush. Otome does what she can to hide her crush, because she finds it scandalous for the girl to take the lead. Surely, this relationship is never going to be anything wilder than Otome trying to charm Zora into asking her out.

Dislikes:

Dirt: ”Eeew, you dirtied my dress!” Otome surely hates dirt. She will do whatever in her power to avoid getting dirty, not to mention getting her clothes ripped. A mud-fight just isn't her cup of tea. She spend a lot of time cleaning and whipping, or better, making other senshi do it for her. As every doctor, Otome knows that prevention is better than cure, so she puts a lot of effort into avoiding getting dirty in the first place. When working in the gardens, a job that unfortunately includes getting earth and dust all over, she wears an effective uniform consisting of apron, boots, garden gloves, hairnet and goggles, just in case...

Immature people: Now, this one might not be very practical when you're surrounded by the youngsters of senshi-hood all day. Much like her prior incarnation, Otome hates immature people and she regards herself the close-to only truly mature person on the Crystal Moon. One of the reasons she likes Hawk's Eye is actually that she considers him the only person around who isn't suffering from serious immaturity.
Anyway, back to the subject. Otome isn't the one to join into any sort of game. She has a tendency to consider pretty much everything ”immature” and ”childish”. This does of course relate to the fact that Otome is in the phase of her life when playing is the worst thing you could possibly do, and the simple fact that she herself never really though it was that cool to play. Otome has a very annoying tendency to yell at other people for being childish and then a few seconds later freak out because somebody makes fun of her dress.

Lack of manners: Otome loves formalities, so obviously she isn't too fond of the opposite. Nothing bothers her more than having a carefully planned ceremony ruined by somebody bursting into laughter or burping during supper. She just generally can't stand people who doesn't play along her rules. As noted countless times before, if you want to make her happy, follow her rules. She will never tolerate anyone trying to disturb her beautiful setting, and will most likely throw them out the door. Lack of manners is basically her word for unpleasant behavior, and since Otome is extremely sensitive about behavior, most people surrounding her has at least once got the label ”lacking of manners”.

”Disrespect”: This ties in with the above a bit. Otome ties the label ”Disrespectful” to basically anyone not following her orders. She is the captain, and she is fully aware of it. Otome never questions her own orders, and she won't allow anyone else to do it. She sees herself as the born leader, and anyone telling her she isn't are just up to hurt her personally. Generally, Otome will freak out and probably start crying over any sort of disrespect, including anything from rebellious acting in serious situations to not taking her advise in choice of socks. Respect means a lot to Otome, and it really bothers her that people can't see what amazing creature of leadership she is. In her dreamworld, nobody ever questions her decisions, but the real world is not quite as rosy...

Elios: Who does this guy really think he is, hurting her precious princess like that?!?
Otome clearly doesn't have the best relationship with the dream priest, actually, she suspects him of doing all sorts of evil things to poor Kiyomi, simply because she can't imagine what can hurt the self-confident princess she has learned to know Kiyomi as. Even if she knew what is going on between them, Otome would view Elios as a criminal, but she is too much into her big honor thing to really listen to Kiyomi. Anyway, things get even more plummed when Zora, loyal to Elios, comes into the picture...

Modern Times: Otome is a romantic, and as such isn't very fond of the era she was born into. She is the kind of girl who insists everything was better in the past, and she is very distrusting of computers and technology. She sees the Crystal Tokyo period as a time of unmannerism, where nobody cares for anyone but themselves, completely missing the point that this period is the most peaceful and ordered in the history of earth. In fact, I'm quite sure that she would complain just as much in any other period of time. Being uncomfortable in her own era is just part of Otome's personality.

Hobbies:

Gardening: Gardening is surely one of Otome's big obsessions, actually so big that she has positioned herself as the Crystal Moon conservatory gardener without giving a thought to the fact that somebody else might be more fit for the job. It's not that she's a bad gardener, though, she's just a bit... obsessive. Otome believes that the conservatory belongs to her and her only, and everybody else daring to enter will have to obey her rules. She spends most of her garden time spying on everybody else, rather than actually do her work, and as a result, the garden can look a bit messy at times, though she will never allow a flower to truly wither or grow rapidly. When she is too lazy to work herself, which is most of the time, Otome will make Dema do her job for her, though it doesn't stop her from yelling at the poor cat when she isn't satisfied with the results. Really, how can you expect gardening skills from somebody who doesn't have hands?

Though she truly dislikes to do the work herself, Otome can spend hours to make up her mind on how to arrange the pink and yellow tulips in a 1x1 meter square. Garden planning is very important and enjoyable for her, as are the planting itself. The thing she doesn't like is the trivial work of watering and cutting down flowers. Though she is too lazy to do it herself, Otome is very determined that everything in the garden should look perfect, and will therefore never allow anyone but Dema to do her work, because she is afraid they would just ruin everything or run away. At least Dema always does her best. Of course, if a senshi who is as much a perfectionist as Otome appears, she won't hesitate with having the poor newcomer do her job.

Designing Clothes: Otome loves this as well, just as she loves anything that involves lots of planning, a sense of beauty and no hard physical work. She dwells in designing all sorts of strange costumes for herself and everyone else to wear. Amazoness Quartet, go home! Otome can spend hours deciding just which color shoelaces to include with an outfit, and an entire dress can take her months. The results of all her hard work usually turns out to be a little more than strange, but don't tell her, it would break her heart. Generally, Otome only designs outfits for those she feels deserve it, so if you've been nice to her: feel the dress coming. And don't reject her gift. Otome really needs to like somebody before she designs them an outfit, so not wearing it for at least three days would be rejecting her, and she'll most likely be your enemy for life. Her design style involves lots of frills, ribbons and expensive fabric, all put together in a Victorian-inspired style with more than a hint of Crystal Tokyo fashion.

Behaving Ladylike: This one has been covered quite a bit up in ”Likes” already, so I'll just give a short summary here, to prevent your horrible, horrible death from boredom.
Otome enjoys anything associated with ladyness, be it beautiful dresses, fine manners or just generally oddity. She dreams to be a respected lady with Princess Kiyomi above her, everyone else below her, and a handsome knight by her side.
Otome really does her best to be a lady (faked british accent, enormous dresses, you name it), but she surely doesn't get the respect she deserves! Or so she thinks.

Uhm, I think I've said enough about ladyness now.

Reading books on the Victorian era: Sure, if Otome ever has to read a book, it's going to be a historybook specifically on the 19th century. Though she hates reading in general, she is seen spending all afternoon studying the fashions at Queen Victoria's 50th birthday party. Otome studies this time period fiercely, both to learn manners and styles, but to dream as well. The Victorian era is her version of ”The good old days” when the world wasn't yet rotten. She likes viewing documentaries on this period as well, but as the camera had only just been invented, there are very few Crystal Tokyo documentaries about the Victorian era, compared to, say, the 1980's. So most of the time, she'll just have to stick with books.

Yeah, not much more to say about this one.

Description:

Hair: Otome is a dream for a hairdresser and a nightmare for any mortal volunteering to do her hair. If she ever let it loose, her hair would fall to somewhere below her knees. Her strong locks are thick and surprisingly silky, considering the strange style they are almost constantly forced into. And they're dark pink. Really dark pink. Forget Chibiusa, this is pinkiness!

Okay, on to the styling. Otome's bangs, which would reach her elbows if loose, are pulled up into two locks on the top op her face, and twisted into two princess Leia-buns behind her ears. The point of this? I thought the buns looked just a tiny bit like roses, and I had to do something interesting with her bangs. And yes, this style was nagged from Marron of Kaito Kamikaze Jeanne.

To avoid looking bald without any bangs, Otome wears a row of pretty yellow flowers where you would suppose bangs to be, held in place by an unknown force (super glue!).

The main lot of Otome's hair, however, is pulled into a high ponytail with a very invisible rubber band. The ponytail is in turn parted into seven locks, one in the middle and six surrounding it, with the middle one curled into a pretty big odango. The six other locks are then made into oval loops, to look like the petals of a daisy. Three yellow ribbons are tied around the odango as well, with one fluffy end resting nicely into each loop. This is not the end, however, for the six locks are each wrapped in a grass green ribbon, until around hip-level, where the wrapping is ended with a yellow flower on each lock. The last around ten centimeters are allowed to hang free. Yeah, I really wouldn't want to do her styling.

If you didn't understand a single word of this, there is a nice ink concept sheet here, colored with pencils because my pens are crap.

Face: Otome has quite a childish face for the most mature of the asteroids. Her cheekbones are pretty high, though not overly so, and her eyes are big, (yeah, like I would ever create a character that doesn't have big eyes), and purple with highlights of – light purple! Her chin is quite average, though maybe a little pointy, and her nose is small and straight. Her skin is an average japanese pale, with no markings of any sort. (Eeew, I've got a spoooot!).

Build: Small. Really small, that is the first thing you notice about Otome. And she won't like you saying it. Standing at 4'10'', she is really no impressing figure, and it really bothers her. Otome want to be noticed, and she doesn't like people looking down on her, so she'll perform all tricks available to seem taller or just more impressing. High heels, plateau shoes, colorful clothes, gym training, you name it. She even designed her hairstyle to be stranger and more attention-demanding than anything the other asteroids could make up. If you want to be really nice to Otome, don't talk about her height. Aside from her not-so-huge stature, Otome is actually quite nice build. Her body is very well-proportionate with only a slight hint of chubbiness. She does have a bit of muscle, mainly caused from her unfortunate gym attempts to gain height, rather than actual work.

Carriage: Otome carries herself like a lady, which means shoulders high, back straight and nose in the sky. She walks around in an almost annoyingly self-confident way, and her body language clearly states who's in charge here. She is very elegant, never trips or drop anything, and she is actually a quite good dancer!

Voice: As you would probably await from a pinky-pink senshi like Ceres, Otome is a soprano, though actually a quite low one. She speaks in a very calm way, the exception being when you piss her off, of course. The most interesting, and probably strange, aspect of Otome's voice, however, is the obviously fake british accent her love for the Victorian era have made her adopt. You'll have to try very hard not to laugh when she commands you to work using strange british words and pronunciations that she can't even understand herself, and, as a follow, can't perform at all. At times, she will even forget to add the accent! Don't tell her that you know she's faking it, however; she is very proud of her accent.

Attire: When possible, Otome loves to wear huge dresses in a mix of Victorian style (i.e: huge skirts and lots of detail) and the pretty flowery moon princess-style. Invite her to a party, or some state happening where she's not required to be in fuku, and she'll surely arrive in a dress so big that she can't get through the door. Of course, she can't wear these dresses all the time, so for casuals, she usually wears more ordinary dresses, though of course still all frills and pastels. You won't see her in pants. Ever. Otome actually prefers not-very-covering clothes for casuals, though you won't see her wearing anything truly skimpy. Fashion means a lot to Otome, so she always makes sure that her dresses are clean and dry, and that nothing is clashing. The only time you'll see Otome wearing anything that is just the tiniest bit of dirty is when she is working in the garden, where she wears an apron, boots and garden gloves just to make sure that her clothes won't get dirty. For jewelry, Otome is nothing near modest. She loves jewelry, and will walk around most of the time with huge shoulder-sweeping earrings and heavy necklaces. Her favorite gemstone is the diamond, by the way.

Personality: Okay, where to start? Otome is the Fine Lady, sophisticated and mature, though a bit snobby. She loves to be the leader and center of everything, with lots of loyal servants, but most other people just can't see that they were born only to cheerish her. In her perfect world, Otome would have a well-balanced temper, but years of disrespect have made her more fierce than is good. She can be very upset if she doesn't get what she wants, and may seem quite childish to other people. Otome awaits to be caught when she faints, cheered up when she cries and followed when she commands, and when people act ”wrong” she will be very offended. Crying and yelling isn't unknown tools to her, even though she'll frown about anyone else doing it. Because of the high morals, Otome can't stand childish behavior, with the only exception being her own one. Anyway, when crying and yelling, she will always be going after her own strict rules of What Is Allowed, so she will never freak out if she feels she is not in her right to do so. Otome never thinks she is not in her right to do so.

One of the big problems with this girl is her astronomic self-confidence. Otome would never be able to imagine that something could be her fault, and while it might be a good ability if everyone is mean to you, it can be dangerous to the surroundings of her who is in charge. No matter how obvious her own mistake is, Otome will always blame somebody else, because she just can't see that she makes mistakes as well. She is extremely self-centered, truly beliving that Hanadokino Otome is the center of the world. Her self-centrism (is that a word?) is also the big reason why she believes she should be the leader: she is not only flawless, but the most important person in the world as well, so of course she should be the leader! Well, not truly, because there is actually one person Otome values higher than herself: Kiyomi. But everyone else are below her, and they better stay there!

Otome is also very conservative. She is sceptical of anything new, be it people, technology or ideas, and would actually prefer to travel back in time to a more subtle period. She can be really hard to get to accept an alternative strategy, because she prefers to stick to the things she know. Generally, Otome dislikes modern times, which she sees as ”tactless”, and would prefer to live in a time where manners weren't frowned upon, as she sees it.

Overly mannerism is of course one of her trademarks as well. Though manners can be great, as with many other things, Otome goes over the limit. Enough is just not enough for her, she has to curtsey just like Queen Victoria and cough behind a fan. Otome behaves like a princess at a royal feast, with the big difference being that she is a senshi surrounded be burping and farting (pre)teens. She is generally very polite in language and actions, unless somebody pisses her up, then she will turn into a fierce dragon-lady. If you don't provoke her, though, Otome will be the prettiest little lady, polite, charming and mannered, but very few people actually sees this side of her, as she will never be quite as nice to someone once they've pissed her off.
Another problem with her manners are that most of them are completely ancient, and a lot of them are dialogish (another not-word!) as well. This means that her handshake requires a special handshake in return, and she awaits a man (preferably Zora) to pull out her chair for her. Obviously, most other people are quite lost on this behavior, and that can lead to some pretty nasty word-fights.

Of course, her manners come from her ladyness and an overdosis of the Victorian era, but they are related to her perfectionism as well. Otome wants everything to be perfect, and even though she is often too lazy to do the hard work herself, she'll sure as hell make sure that somebody else will be doing it for her. Her perfectionism includes anything from the status of the garden flowers to her own hair. If Otome does something, she'll do it to perfection (or make somebody else do it to perfection). This girl loves planning and arranging things, and she can spend hours make everything perfect. Perfection is very important to her. Uhm, I never quite explained the thing with the manners. Otome's perfectionism isn't limited to objects, behavior has to be perfect as well, and this includes her own. Since she admires the ladies of the 19th century, it was only natural for her to copy her version of perfect behavior from them.

Obviously, perfectionism and lazy behavior isn't the best combination, but somehow Otome makes it work.
She is actually quite lazy, with a tendency to make other people do her work (like you hadn't guessed that before). Her lazyness is limited to physical work, however, Otome loves planning and preparing things, but she hates anything trivial or simple. She is also very obsessed about making people actually do the tings she want them to; if nobody can do the job good enough, she'd rather do it herself than just let it not be done. In her ideal world, Otome has waiters to do all sorts of things for her while she concentrates on planning, training or just plain relaxing, but since that isn't an opportunity in reality, she has to use strategy. When Otome wants somebody to do something for her, she won't just step up to that person and demand them doing it. She used to do it like that, but time has taught her that it's not how to get your work done. Instead, she has made a strategy of making the job seem like ”a little friendly help”, and she can be really sweet if you agree to ”help” her. But, on the other hand, if her target rejects it, she'll start yelling about how rude they are and ”you should know your duty!”. Though she can be annoyingly lazy, Otome knows when she's needed, and she will never be loose on her important duties. If Kiyomi needs help, help is coming.

Of her age, Otome could be considered quite mature, but on the other hand, she can be a whiny as a two-year-old when it strikes her. Don't tell her, though, Otome believes she is the most mature person on the Crystal Moon. Which is quite an immature thought. Damn.
Anyway, what I was trying to tell was that Otome is neither mature nor childish, and she is by no means teen-like. The truth might be that she would like to be mature, but her temper makes her seem quite immature. According to herself, if she was treated the way she is supposed to, Otome would be just as well-balanced and mature as any lady, but living with such terrible immature kids have corrupted her fine soul. Or whatever. I guess there's no real answer whether Otome is mature or immature, people will just have to make up their own mind. Most of them choose immature.

On a separate note, Otome can't possibly imagine anything worse than being childlike, so don't call her so. She'll most likely be heart-broken, AND your enemy for life. Just don't say it.

Over the years, she has grown more hardened, but Otome is nonetheless still extremely sensitive to complaints. Because she is sure of her own perfection, Otome takes any feedback as a direct proof that the person who gave it hates her personally, and the worst cases might give her a traume to stay. Even small things like ”You've got a spot on your shirt” or ”I don't think we should use your teapot” can leave her heart-broken, so just imagine what ”You're ugly” can do to her. When offended by something, she will generally either faint or start crying, though a few cases of ”give them their own medicine” has occurred. When Otome starts crying, she is expecting everyone to came hustling to cheer her up, and the offender to give a big excuse, but when this doesn't happen, which is most of the time, she will lie crying until everyone is gone, and then she'll withdraw to her room and be depressed for the rest of the day.

One thing Otome really loves is luxury. Sure, everybody likes it, but Otome is a true Sucker For Luxury (TM). Be it objects, service or surroundings, luxury is what is necessary to make her feel good. She will never be satisfied with the mediocre, Otome know that she deserves the best, and she will sure as hell get it.

Oh, it seems like she has only negative traits, but that is of course not true. On the positive side it has to be noted that Otome is loyal, brave and a perfectionist (which can be good as well), and she really does her best to be sweet and friendly. If just everybody wasn't provoking her all the time, Otome could be a very Nice Lady. She won't leave her fellow senshi with their serious problems, Otome does actually take care of her ”servants”. After all, if they died, who would be left to serve her? She is mannered and polite, as long as no one provokes her, and even though her presence can be bad to the atmosphere of a room, she didn't intent to ruin the fun.

On the summing:

Pro's:

Mannered, loyal (to Kiyomi), perfectionist, polite, brave, knows her duty, self-confident (though a bit too much).

Con's:

Dominating, (too) self-assured, conservative, lazy, way too sensitive, can be really whiny, (too much of a) perfectionist, demanding, sees everybody as her underlings, materialistic.

Okay, I guess there is nothing left to say except: Let's give an applaud to those O's!

History: A long time ago in an asteroid belt not so far away...

...nothing happened.

Theoretically, Ceres had been sleeping in her asteroid for centuries (theoretically because of a little evil trip to earth by the former incarnation of her starseed, which we will not go into detail with her), when she was awaken by the consciousness that her princess had finally been reincarnated. Like most asteroids, the first thing she did was to fix her hair, but the second thing was to check if the others were aware of her status of leader. Let's just say they weren't.

After an argument with mostly everyone over her birthright to be leader, Ceres went to Crystal Tokyo with her underlings (or at least that's what she calls them) to search for their princess.

At their arrival at the Crystal Palace, Ceres made a speech, which she herself insists were brilliant, to tell the Neo Queen that they were there to guard their princess. Whether the queen understood what she meant by ”Bring our lustrious leader to the glorious position of royal overhead of the free satellites,” all said with an high society british accent, is an open question, but after a bit of discussion among the adult senshi, the asteroids were accepted as Kiyomi's count.

Otome immediately fell into the role of senshi leader, and she was very pleased with the luxury of the Crystal Palace. However, she was also very fast to complain if something wasn't as she wished it. As soon as Otome saw Bendis, she decided that she needed a ”speaking cat” as well (”I'm the leader, I deserve a cat!”), and walked straight up to the Neo Queen and demanded one. This girl's got self-confidence! Anyway, as Serenity was still unsure of this new senshi and her powers, it was decided to give her a young kitten, at that time what's equal to six years old for guardian cats. The cat was originally intended to guard a possible second daughter of the Neo Queen, but as her servingly nature made her unfit to that position, it wasn't that much of a loss to give her away. Though she went by another (long forgotten) name by that time, Otome immediately re-named her Demeter or Dema for short, at which the cat didn't make single complaint. For the next four years, Otome spended most of her time raising Dema, arguing her right to mess into the gardener's work with him, arguing her right to be leader with the asteroids, and arguing her right to be in Crystal Tokyo with the Neo-Lunarians. She also got much closer to Kiyomi, though she never let go of her formal attitude. Though she grew used to life on earth, Otome was happy when the plans for the Crystal Moon was made public. Imagine, her own garden, a place ruled by her beloved princess, and all of it far away from those snobby Lunarians! You can imagine how pleased she was to find out that they were moving in as well, on a crystal satellite lightyears from both earth and her asteroid.

And to make it all worse, this strange Elios and his count is there as well, making Kiyomi sad and filling up her lots of space! At least Hawk's Eye is a nice guy...

Part III: Soldier Information

Special Skills:

Knowledge of the Victorian Era: Probably not the most necessary skill in battle, Otome is nonetheless quite an oracle when it comes to the Victorian Era. Though she probably won't know who won this or that war, ask her anything that relates just the slightest to Victorian culture and habits and she'll know it. Hours of reading have actually produced some sort of results. Now, if there were any actual use for this knowledge...

Manners: So you say you can't use manners in battle? Have you ever tried bowing to a youma? No? Then how do you know it won't work?
Otome is the lady fighter, never attacking first, and starting every battle with a curtsey. She believes that behaving good can help you out of everything, and she battles after duel rules. However, when they aren't kept up by her opponent, Otome gets a good deal more dangerous...

Do not break her rules.

Designing clothes: This one might take the price as her absolutely most battle-useless ability. Honestly, who needs a designer in mid-battle? However, Otome doesn't see the problem, instead believing this one to be her most usefull ability. Okay, maybe not in battle, but just imagine how many cool dresses you can make with it! Probably she's right. At least, it is very important to her in civil life, where she can use several hours to create a wonderful outfit for somebody. But when they refuse to wear it, the very dangerous Otome-anger is tickered. And then you want to get away.

Scaring everyone away with weird mannerisms: Though she would never admit it, Otome has a strong phychic weapon in this ability. Honestly, who would feel completely well facing an opponent who speaks japanese with a british accent and insists that the two of you should bow to each other before starting the fight? Like the before mentioned ambassadors, most people facing her will believe feel like running away from the assumed mad(wo)man, a fact that can ticker Otome's anger quite a bit. Really, they assume me to be mad?!? However, most of the shock comes from surprise, and so, people who know her already won't be very terrified. As mentioned before, it is a usefull ability, but Otome would never be as lowly as to take advance from it. Never.

Elegance: Years of ladyness practice has learned Otome how to walk without a sound and avoiding to push down anything. Though she isn't a native american pathfinder-ish girl, Otome has a definate elegance that protects her from stupid moves. She isn't the one who step on the dry branch.
Otome just never trips over or drop things, and if it wasn't against all her morals, she would have made quite a good thief. If the senshi was ever to steal something from an enemy, she should be the one to carry it. Aside from avoiding to be found, Otome's elegance can help her in a fight as well. It's not that she can jump around like another martial artist, which she can not, but her good sense of balance and training in the fine art of wearing stilets makes Otome really hard to knock down. She knows how to regain balance before you even loses it, and you need to be really lucky to lay her down. Though not as well-developed, she is also quite good at avoiding physical strikes. Blocking them, however, is another story – really, how much do you expect of someone who's less than 5 feet tall and does nothing all day?

Items: Eew, weapons aren't ladylike!

She does have a henshin wand, though, and it looks something like this.

Powers:

Note: Please don't mind the overly long and purty stock footages, Otome likes them that way.

Spring Sakura Bloom!

Stock Footage: A sakura petal falls from it's flower, which is attached to a tiny branch. The petal fall slowly down and touches a water surface (yeah, I nagged this from the CCS opener). As the petal touches the water, numerous petals flies past and covers the screen in pinkiness. When the view clears, Ceres is twirling close to the camera, hands over her head and petals twirling around her as an orb. The camera zooms out, and you can see Ceres more clearly now. While the petals keep twirling, she slows down, and crosses her arms, still twirling slowly. Suddenly, she bends up her left leg, yells the phase and shoots her arms backwards (Like Shabon Spray). Ceres is then shot backwards, while the petals flies forward to her target.

Effects: Even though the Stock Footage is long, pretty, and damn annoying when you've seen it twenty times, this attack is actually quite harmless. All it does is burying the target in sakura petals so they can't move. How long the target is kept buried depends on how strong that person is. Because the ”Petal Beam” is very wide, this attack can be neither blocked, dodged or reflected, but it might only take a few minutes to get out of the pile of petals. Sailor Ceres can cast this attack about 10 times before running out of energy, it is not very powerful.

Summer Sunflower Symphony!

Stock Footage: As she yell the word ”Summer”, Ceres rises her right hand to the sky and looks up, as a golden light shine from above. Illusionary sunflowers seems to grow behind her as rises her left hand, standing on her tip-toes. When her hand are united, a handful of sunflower seeds appear between them, which she lowers to shoulder-level and yells ”Sunflower Symphony!”. Then a golden light shines from the seeds, as she closes her fist around them, spin once, and throw at her target. Where the seeds hit the ground, 3 meters tall sunflowers grow up immediately.

Effects: Okay, so it has nothing to with a symphony, but ”Summer Sunflower Rapid growth!” would sound stupid.
Anyway. This attack is a blocker/defensive power like her first one, except it is much more powerful. Depending on how she throw them, Ceres can use the seeds to create a protective wall for herself to hide behind, she can encage an opponent, or, if she is really lucky, have a sunflower lift her enemy three meters up in the air by growing through their pantleg! You can't block or deflect you out of this, there is only one way to avoid the sunflowers: Run Like Hell. Since this attack is more powerful than the Sakura Bloom, it also requires more energy. Because of that, Ceres can only use it for a maximum of 4 times per battle.

Autumn Rose Withering!

Stock Footage: Ceres is seen close-up in profile, holding up a red rose, which she kisses and say ”Autumn”. As soon as says the word, the rose withers, and she lifts it high in the air, saying ”Rose Withering!” a bit louder. Then a wind blows the dead petals off the rose, and they flies randomly through the air until they hit something, causing them to disappear.

Effects: This attack concentrates on destroying an opponent's weapon. When aimed correctly, Ceres can use this attack to make a weapon rust or 'wither' for the duration of the battle. Actually getting this attack to hit the weapon she want to affect can be quite hard as the petals cannot be controlled once they are activated. Ceres will just have to hope the best. The attack will only work on conventional weapons, senshi or guardian artifacts of course can't be destroyed that easy. An ordinary weapon that have been powered up with a spell, like most of the cavaliers's stuff, aren't immune from the effects of this attack, but they will only be rusty for around 15 minutes, in contrast to the end-of-battle effects on ordinary weapons. Ceres can cast this one for one successful time; she can cast it as much as she wishes until she actually hit something that could be considered a weapon, then she can't use this attack for the rest of the battle. With this in mind, it's not very good if the attack chooses to affect somebody's dagger...

Winter Freezing Holly!

Stock Footage: Ceres is shown close-up in profile, letting out a sneeze. Then she opens her eyes and looks at the viewer. Holly leaves and snow particles fly past her, obscuring the view. When they clear a bit, she is seen twirling with her eyes closed and hands above her head, surrounded by lots of holly leaves and snow. She yells out ”Winter Freezing” while the leaves and snow gather in her hands. Then she stops twirling, opens her eyes and stands face to the camera. A few snow particles are still circling her as she separates her glowing hands and slowly lowers them to vertical position. All of a sudden, she reunites them, and holds them up to her face as if she were going to drink water of them. Now, the glowing glitter has taken the form of a few holly leaves. Then there is a close-up of Ceres saying ”Holly!” and then blowing off the leaves. They will then begin circling a target until they success in hitting them.

Effects: Though it looks pretty, this attack is actually quite nasty. The person affected from it will start out with feeling suddenly cold. The cold comes from inside, so carpets and the like won't be a great help. The only way to stop the effects of this attack is something as simple as tea, especially camomille, but it has to be drunken within the first 15 minutes from the spellcasting. During this period, the target will keep feeling colder, until a flu breaks out. Once the first sneeze is uttered, tea is no help any more. The person will come down with a really bad case of flu to last for the next week, and will most likely be so busy blowing their nose that they have no time to attack. This attack can be dodged (if you Run Like Hell) but neither blocked or reflected, as the petals will just fly behind you and attack your back. Full body armour might help, though. Because it's so damn powerful and targeted, Ceres can only cast this attack for a maximum of two times, and she will be pretty much power-drained after the second time. If she tries to cast it three times, the flu will hit herself. The attack also only works one one target at a time, and the petals select a specific target, so the others can carry on fighting without having to fear Ceres's attack as soon as it is clear who has to Run Like Hell.

Okay, maybe this attack isn't very flower-themed, but her theme is seasons as well, and flu is what I connect with winter. And I spit on the fact that the holly ain't no flower.

Power-up special: Seasonal Bloom!

Stock Footage: This attack starts with small bulbs of all sorts of flowers opening up, just to fly upwards as fully grown flowers. As the flowers cover the screen, there is a cut to Ceres, who stands with her legs together, eyes closed and hands folded. As she say the word ”Seasonal”, bordering to a whisper, the flowers from before starts to fly around her. She then opens her eyes, unfolds her hands and start spinning, while the flowers gather around her. When she thinks there are enough flowers, Ceres spins more slowly, crosses her arms and shoot the flowers off exactly like in the Sakura Bloom, except there are now ten times as many, and they are of all species.

Effects: This is Sailor Ceres's most powerful attack, and can only be used when powered up by Elios. It's a good old traditional ”Throw something pretty at your opponent and do some damage” Sailor Moon attack, with the flowers simply hitting the target hard. Really Hard. Actually, it feels like being bombarded with pebbles, but a big fat load of them. Since it's really broad, it can affect more than one opponent, as long as they are all in the same direction (i.e. not one in front of her and one behind her back). The broadness also makes it impossible to reflect, but you can block it with a very huge shield and strong legs (so you won't get pushed back), or avoid it by flying high or burying low. Running to the sides won't help you at all. Whether the target dies or not does of course depend on the strength of that opponent.

This attack is desperation and that mean one use. En, ein, uno, one! That's all.

Fuku: Based on the traditional Lunar fuku, Ceres's outfit is build up around a traditional white Lunar bodysuit with a chest seam. On her shoulders lay a dark pink sailor collar without any stripes, which is attached to a just as dark pink heart-shaped brooch, holding a dark blue bow in place. The fuku shoulders themselves are build up from two rings of padded fabric and a nice see-through sleeve with a hint of lavender to it. On Sailor Ceres's hips rest a belt made from the same padded fabric as the shoulders, holding a dark pink pleated skirt of the short kind in place. A light pink bow with long flimsy tails is attached to the back of the belt. Then there's the accessories. A dark pink choker is tied around Ceres's neck, her hands are covered by two long, tight white gloves with dark pink padded rings at the end, and her forehead is adorned by a golden tiara with a dark pink gem set in the center. A pair of daisy-shaped earrings dangle from her ears, and for shoes, she wear a pair of dark pink plastic clip-claps with a yellow flower on each. These are not good for running! There's a picture here if this made no sense to you. Please ignore the goofy look on her face, I was focused on the fuku.

Henshin: Ceres Crystal Power, Make-up!

Otome rises her pretty pink henshin wand in the air, standing on her tip-toes with her other hand down her side. She is shimmering light pink at this point. She starts twirling, slowly rising her other hand up to the wand. As she twirls, various small flowers start to twirl around her as well, like a gymnast's ribbon. She twirls faster, the flowers increase in numbers, and as her second hand reaches the henshin wand, the viewer's look is blocked by the flowers, who melt together to a solid pink background. A red rosebud emerges from the pinkiness, unfolding it's petals, with Sailor Ceres flying out of it, twirling a few times as the camera draws closer to her. Then a few petals flies past her, leaving her earrings and tiara. Ceres opens her eyes and twirls as the the camera draws away from her, stopping in her ending pose of legs together, one hand in the side, the other touching her cheek, and her face tilted with a sweet smile.

Symbol: A C on top of a cross, looking pretty muck like Venus's symbol with a hole in it. Or whatever. Her wand symbol-thingy are two golden sakura branches in bloom. The picture shows both symbols at once because I'm lazy.

Guardian Cat:

Name: Demeter, or simply Dema. From the Greek equiliant of Ceres.

Cat Looks: Being quite young, Dema looks like something in between a cat and a kitten. She is small and slender of build, though she has definitely got some curves. Her legs are quite short, while her neck and tail is to be considered long. All of her body is covered in long light pink fur, giving her a semilonghair appearance. Though her fur is long, it is far from rich, and very few people would mistake her for a persian. Her triangular face is dominated by a pair of enormous, innocent reddish eyes, only leaving little space for her tiny pink nose and the golden crescent moon on her forehead. Her ears are extremely large as well, giving Dema an exceptionally good sense of hearing. Her general looks are more foxlike than actually catlike. She constantly wears a fluffy white ribbon around her neck, and, if she's unlucky, a cute frilly cat-dress of some sort as well. Picture.

Human Looks: Dema is only what equilates to around 10 years old for guardians, and it shows. Even in human form, she is small of stature, standing at 4'11'' (which is 1'' more than Otome!) and extremely petite of build. She is skinny in the way of 10-years-old-girls-who-grow-too-fast, but she isn't anorectic or anything. Her features are generally of average length, but very skinny. This girl has no muscle at all. She looks like a normal human though, of course except for the longhaired cat tail protuding from her behind.

Her skin is average, maybe a bit on the pale side, with no real marks – if you don't mind the the big golden look-I'm-here-I'm-a-guardian-cat crescent moon on her forehead.

Dema's face is pointy with a high forehead and big honkin' eyes located close to her chin, for extra cuteness. They (the eyes) are reddish just like in her cat form, with thin cutie-eyelashes. Her nose is very little, and the status of her ears are unknown – you can't see them for the hair.

Speaking of hair, Dema's head is covered in soft, long light pink locks, pulled into two ponytails with fluffy white ribbons. The ponytails are a bit wavy, looking all fluffy and nice, and covers her ears perfectly. The bangs are curly in the usual Sailor Moon style, and reach down to her slender eyebows.

For clothing, Dema wears... well, what Otome want her to wear. Because she never complains, Dema is Otome's very favorite ”customer” for her clothes business. She is the one ending up with the strangest outfits, which is usually something light, flowery and completely unpractical. As if to make things worse for the poor kitty, Otome has started to dress her up while in cat form as well, and while it usually only comes to jewelry and huge fluffy bows, any special occassion has to be spent wearing a special-designed frilly white cat dress and cute little shoes. Poor kitty.

Picture, Dema in a surprisingly normal outfit.

Personality: This little girl is all but a guardian. Though she was originally thought to guard Kousagi, Demeter's tendency to take orders rather than give them made her hopeless for that job. On the other hand, she is perfect for Otome, who doesn't like to take orders from anyone but Kiyomi. Dema will do pretty much anything you ask her to do without complaining, she is happy to get an order!

She fits into Otome's dreamworld perfectly, as the good example of how she should be treated. Dema always adresses Otome as ”Lady Ceres” and she is very happy with that. In general, Dema is very mannered, always calling people by ”-san” and never speaking when she isn't supposed to. She is your ideal ”nice girl”.

Dema is very unexperienced due to her young age, and she still has a lot to learn about being a guardian. She is definitely not your source of invaluable information in a pressed situation. Really, this cat haven't completed grade school (or whatever training guardians undergo), how would you expect her to know your enemy's weak points? Though she isn't very quick, Demeter is aware of it and does her best to improve, honestly. What she lacks in brains in weighted up by an extreme loyalty and love to her senshi and the princess. Dema would do anything for Lady Ceres, simply because she loves her.

However, since she is so young and loving, Dema is also easy to scare. She doesn't know about the rough life outside the palace walls, and would prefer not to be told. This can of course set her quite on an edge with Bendis.

Dema is afraid of practically everything, but the worst thing imaginable to her is that something bad happened to Lady Ceres. Sometimes Dema wishes she was stronger so she could protect her senshi, fully forgetting that the senshi is supposed to be the one who protects.

Demeter is also extremely naive. She believes in a happy pink world where everybody is nice to each other, and she don't like people telling her something else. As a pacifist, Dema also hates fights and arguments, always trying to make people be ”good friends again”. This can be quite a job on the Crystal Moon... Dema doesn't like to interfere with other people's fights, because she doesn't think she has the right to do so, but sometimes it can be necessary. When she tries to stop a fight, Demeter would never pull the competants from each other with violence, she'd rather try to talk them out of it.

Demeter is a rather silent and shy cat who would prefer not to do anything on her own. She feels most safe when surrounded by other people who can give her orders, and would never take the lead herself. She is terrified of any breaking of the rules, and would most surely not go spraying grafitti on the Palace Walls with Bendis.

The relationship between Otome and Dema is very master-servant like, said in another way: it is based on one-way respect. Both of them likes each other, of course, but only Dema does actually respect Otome. Now, don't flame Otome, she surely loves her cat, but it's a bit like how one loves her little sister. They are below you, but you like them anyway. Or something like this.

Miscellaneous: On the rare occassions that Demeter take human form, she can only stay in it for about an hour, and will end up very tired. Transforming is hard.

Part IV: Other Information

Knowledge: Uhm... Okay, this is where it gets embarrassing. I'll have to confess.

I haven't seen Sailormoon! Okay, you can shoot me now.

It really isn't because I'm lazy, neither the series or the manga was ever translated into danish, my first language, and my TV can't find any channels airing it. I even got RTL2 (german channel which airs 5 hours of anime daily) just find out they stopped airing Sailor Moon a few weeks before I could watch it. I can't even buy the videos, because they wouldn't fit into my VHS recorder, or a region 2 DVD player. I have seen a few episodes, though, as Sailor Moon R was aired early in the morning on a swedish sender during the summer holidays last year, and I managed to get up and watch a few of them. I've seen a few R episodes on another german sender as well, which has yet stopped airing them as well. Boy, feels like a conspiratory against my Quest for Sailormoon Enlightenment ^-^;. I downloaded the episodes on Beautiful Dreamer (and read all of the site), by the way.

I've done a huge load of research to make up for it though, so I know pretty much everything going on in each season, plus I've read shrines on all of the original cast. And downloaded every single henshin sequence in the original series. And read all of the Moon Princess Trillogy.

Yeah! As I'm writing this, I won an eBay auction for manga books 2-9 in german! I will hopefully get and read them before this app is getting reviewed, and then continue my quest for the complete manga collection ^-^!

RP Experience: None yet. ^-^;;;

Why You: Because Otome will be very mad with you if you don't let her in! OK, just kidding ^^;

I belive I'm a pretty good writer, at least I don't completely suck, and I'll draw pictures of you all, even though my art sucks! ^-^

Plus I'd kill to get into this game, it's sooo nifty!
Okay, so I have no real excuse for getting in. Shoot me.

Miscellaneous: Flowers Rock!

Part V: Grammar Check

Hmm, I should maybe give you one to make up for massive lack of SM watching and RP experience, but on the other hand, this crap is nearly 15 pages in StarWriter already, so I belive it's long enough.

You'll get one if you want to. ^-^

On August 1st, the reviewers wrote: "Otome is horribly cute. She's a little Victorian lady, and the thought of her trying to speak japanese with a british accent was enough to send us giggling out of our chairs. ^_^ Her design is wonderful, and we're okay with her fixation on Hawkseye since she would never do something so vulgar as make the first move. ^_^ The only thing we'd like you to work on is her Special Skills. Manners and Elegance are fine, but things like Perfectionism and Self-Confidence should be covered in her personality. Special Skills are things that they're exceptionally good at beyond most people. ^^ Knowledge of the Victorian Era could go there, for instance. ^_^ Other than that, you're peachy! Welcome to the game ^_^" Yay! (I fixed the problems by now)
