(Pencils, Pens, Tape, Glue Sticks, Paper Clips, Dry-Ease Markers, Post-It Notes, Staples etc. Anything a teacher would have to buy for themselves.) ===================================================================================== - Movie Basket A Basket filled with items for a night at home with a movie. (Microwave popcorn, Candy Bars, Candy, Drinks, and a gift certificate for a movie rental.) ===================================================================================== - Coffee Lovers Basket A Basket filled with Coffee items for a nice break. (Coffee Mug, Coffee, Biscotti Biscuits, Sugar, Creamer, Chocolate Covered Spoon.) ===================================================================================== - Pamper Yourself Basket A Basket filled with items for your teacher to take time out for themeselves. (A Bath Pillow, Candles, Lotions, Mask for their face, Manicure set, etc.) ===================================================================================== - Family Time Gift Basket You will need: 1 Large Popcorn Bowl, 1 Candy bar for every member of the family, 2 microwaveable popcorn packages, Drinks for everyone, a gift card for movie rentals, tissue paper and ribbon. Create: Start by filling large popcorn bowl with tissue paper. Place drinks evenly around the inside of the bowl. Add microwaveable popcorn packages, candy bars, and in the center the gift card. Wrap bowl with shrink wrap to keep items inside and tie with a ribbon. For added fun, throw in different kinds of playing cards: UNO, Go Fish, regular cards. Give this basket to the family who has everything! ===================================================================================== - Cookie-Making Gift Basket You will need: 1 large mixing bowl, cookie cutters, spatula, wooden spoon, dish towel, prepared cookie dough, cookie decorations/sprinkles, and colored icing Create: Line the mixing bowl with the dish towel. Place prepared cookie dough* in the center of the bowl. Surround the dough with cookie cutters, wooden spoon, spatula, cookie decartions/spinkles and icing. I like to buy the colored icing that comes in a can and it squirts out like cheese in a can. Kids love it and it comes in so many wonderful colors. ***See below for a Cookie Dough Recipe and Colored Icing Recipe ===================================================================================== - Colored Icing Recipe 1 box (1 pound) confectioners' sugar 2 Tablespoons powdered egg whites 6 Tablespoons water Food Coloring, optional Beat together sugar, powdered egg whites and water until thick and fluffy. Add food coloring, if desired. Spread icing over cookies and decorate with colored frosting. Let stand until set. ===================================================================================== - Cookie Dough Recipe 7 cups all-purpose flour 2 Tablespoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) margarine, softened 2 cans (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk 4 large eggs 4 teaspoons lemon extract In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium speed, beat margarine until fluffy. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk. Beat in the eggs and lemon extract. Stir in flour mixture until combined. Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap. Freeze until firm, about 10 minutes. ==================================================================================== - How to Bake Cookies Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 2 baking sheets. Unwrap 1 ball of dough; reserve remaining dough. On a lightly floured surface, using a lightly floured rolling pin, roll out dough to an 1/8 inch thickness. Using 1 1/2 inch cookie cutters, cut out cookies and place 1 inch apart on baking sheets. Reroll scraps and cut out more cookies. Bake cookies until browned, about 7 minutes. Transfer sheets to wire racks; cool 1 minute. Transfer cookies to racks; cool completely. Decorate with Colored Icing. ==================================================================================== -Cookie Dough Tips 1. Wrap cookie dough in saran wrap or parchment paper. Twist ends and wrap with ribbon. 2. Add your favorite cookie cutter to the front of the dough package hanging from the ribbon. 3. Place colored icing into disposable icing bags and add different icing tips to the basket. 4. Cookie dough can be made up to 1 month in advance. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze. To thaw, let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. ====================================================================================== - Scrapbook Lovers Gift Basket You will need: 1 plastic container with pull out drawers (sterlite makes a 3 drawer desk top version that works great) Scissors (choose many with different cutting edges) Acid-Free stickers, Scrapbooking Magazine, Glue Pen, Paper punches, and a Memory Album Create: Fill container with all or some of the ideas listed above. Wrap with shrink wrap to keep items contained in container. ===================================================================================== - Craft Lovers Gift Basket 1 plastic container with lid (some have handles that work great for kids) glue gun (for older kids), glue sticks, markers, chenille/pipe cleaners, pom-poms, paint pens, beads, acrylic paints, stickers, tape, colored cardstock etc. Create: Fill container with all or some of the ideas listed above. For kids craft bucket, add kids scissors, construction paper, and a folder with ideas you find and print off.
