IDEAs Accessible TransportDo you have difficulty accessing public transport? Perhaps you are an isolated older person or have a disability. Would you like the freedom to go shopping, visit friends or get to appointments and know you can get back home safely? IDEAs can provide transport for people with disabilities and older people to access community facilities and services. Our minibuses are accessible to wheelchairs and we provide qualified drivers and trained escorts to ensure your safety on the journey. You can be picked up from and returned to you front door and can go anywhere on the island, just give us advanced notice. We work in partnership with Argyll and Bute Community Services, who own two smaller silver vehicles, to provide a flexible service. All vehicles are operated from IDEAs. Our minibuses are a valuable community resource providing school transport and are also available for use by local community groups. How do I book the Bus? To book transport, phone our office at least 24hrs before you wish to travel. This gives us time to organise our drivers. Tell us where you want to go and what time and we will try our best to accommodate you. Please note: Due to licensing restrictions we can only provide transport for citizens of Islay and Jura.
