| The Institute for the Development of Educational and Ecological Alternatives, Inc. (IDEAS) is a private, non-profit and non-stock organization engaged in social research, sustainable agriculture promotion, micro-enterprise development and environmental advocacy. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1985 and started its operations in 1986. It has helped established community-based people's organisations in Cavite and Oriental Mindoro. Among these organisations in Oriental Mindoro are Mangyan community organizations and upland farmer's organisations. It is active in the promotion of sustainable farming technologies among upland and lowland farmers in Cavite, Oriental Mindoro and Southern Palawan. | IDEAS operates two ecological farm/training centers, one located at Lungon, Barangay San Miguel, Silang, Cavite and the second in San Mariano, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro. It has a field office in Quezon, Palawan. |
| IDEAS is a founding member of the Southern Tagalog Association of Regional NGOs (STARANGO), an association of DSWD licensed NGOs. It is also a founding member of the Philippine Partners Forum for Sustainable Agriculture, a network of sustainable agriculture practitioners. IDEAS is also a co-founder of the Cavite Technical Working Group on Land and Water Rseource Management, a coalition of NGOs established in 1997. In Palawan, IDEAS is a member of the Palawan NGO Network Inc. (PNNI). |
