"The Rumour"-released in 1988 on MCA,EMI,Toshiba/EMI and Festival/Interfusion.
Olivia turns forty..but she doesn't look it!
She's back to her sweet old self again and rocks with the Elton John-penned title song. He does some backup vocals too.
"Love and Let Live" is a song that addresses the issue of AIDS which suggests using coital protection.(As for myself,I advocate abstinence before marriage and making sure you and your better half checks out OK before you go all the way!) Interesting music video of the song featured in "Olivia Down Under" aired on HBO and released on PolyGram Music Video. Her last MCA album before jumping over to the Geffen label. Her "Koala Blue" venture is growing by leaps and bounds and Chloe is now a todder.Olivia also becomes even more of an enviromental activist than before.

"It's Always Australia For Me" is added on the Australian release.
"Back To Basics..The Essential Colletion 1971-1992"-released in 1993 on Geffen,(US)PolyGram/Mercury(Europe) and Festival(Australia)
Another greatest hits compilation with four new songs, including a remake of Brenda Lee's old hit "I Want To Be Wanted" and "I Need Love" a music video using bits and pieces from "Can We Talk It Over In Bed?" from "The Rumour."
I was in hopes that Olivia would make a huge comeback with  a concert tour before she gets too old but things start happening for the bad. Rumors of marital meltdown persist,Koala Blue falls victim to the 1991 recession brought on by the Desert Storm war and then she discovers she has breast cancer on the day her father dies of cancer. Her doctors say she's okay but her gut feelings tell her otherwise. She undergoes chemotherapy and breast reconstruction and comes out a winner!
It is said that "bad things happen to good people." She hangs tough but needs to hang even tougher!
Head on back to the house........

Olivia kisses little Collette Chuda on the cover while daughter Chloe stands in back of her mum. (Collette later dies of cancer at age 5 and an enviromental research fund is named after her.) Olivia dedicated this lullaby album to them and to all new parents worldwide. "Reach Out For Me" is relased as a single and as a video on VH-1 as the baby boomers have since outgrown MTV. The video was shot out west in a meadow with a horde of preschool-age kids looking as if it were a glimpse of Heaven with the video's soft focus.Olivia is dressed beautfully in white as if she were a country angel.
