Blood

Blood

i feel as though my blood is slowly seeping from my skin,
it's such a futile game to play and try to hold it in.
the footing's always slip'ry and the ice is always thin,
it swallows me, it holds me down...and i'm screaming.

in the all the storm's fury and all the cold's might,
in places that i can't see, seeming forever night,
with a hot stab of anger, on the cold edge of fear,
i'll embrace the pain, i'll swim against drowning...forever.

as time rushes slowly, faith battles with sorrow,
on gathering shadows my hope rides tomorrow,
elusive glimmers of gold, tales of treasures untold,
dance on the wings of my angel...take me away from here.
