Edgar Allan Poe
                                            (1809- 1849)
Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston in the year 1809. He had a lot to be dreary about. Both of his parents died within two years of his birth so he lived with John Allan. They weren't exactly the best of friends. First, he broke off Poe's engagement to his sweetheart from Richmond, Sarah Royster. John refused to pay for Edgar's education so he had to drop out of the University of Virginia and enter the Military Academy from which he was dishonorably kicked out a year later. He then got a job as a newspaper editor in Richmond, Philadelphia, and N.Y.. He only gained success in 1845  for the publication of
The Raven and Other Poems. Poe still lived in poverty though. He married his cousin Virginia who died 11 years later.A few of his poems may have come from this such as Lenore.A few years after her death in 1849, Poe died. How morbid.
Edgar Allan Poe basically rocks. He managed to write wonderful stories and poems even though his life could not have been much worse. Edgar Allan Poe, we salute you.
