Subject: Request regarding Thesis Research work of M.Sc. Students of IFT

 

 

    

 Dear Sir,  

                         The Institute is running Master’s degree program in Food Science and Technology since last four years. It aims to serve the nation by pursuing the goal of becoming one of the leading centers of teaching, research and extension in the area of Food Science and Technology.

         The Curriculum of the Master’s degree program has been integrated with scientific knowledge of microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology and engineering with the Technology of Food preservation, processing, packaging and storage of Plant and Animal Foods.

          In the final semester of the degree program, students are provided an opportunity to work over a problem /idea prevailing in the area of Food Science & Technology under an effective guidance. It helps the students to have an optimal mix of theoretical and practical scientific knowledge. Submission of the work as Thesis Research is considered to be an essential component of the curriculum. In this respect, every year some of the students are provided an opportunity to get an exposure of R & D  at other Institutions, and the Institute is getting a continuous welcome cooperation from a number of Institutes and Food Industries of our country. The Institute recognizes their efforts and is thankful for it.

     Further, it is requested to all those who can help us regarding this purpose. Please allow a few of the M.Sc. 4th semester students to undertake research work under an effective guidance at your Institution for a period of 3-4 months, from January, 2005.  Students will avail the available laboratory facilities at your Institute and will work on their hypothesis, developed in guidance of the Advisory Board. Work carried out at your Institute will be duly acknowledged. Students may approach you personally, Please treat them as being permitted by the Institute. The Institute would welcome a memorandum of understanding, if need be. If possible, provide accommodation for the students. The charges, (if any) shall be paid by the students upon availing the facility.
