35. Edward Thomas³ JOHNSTONE (Thomas ("Whinfield" and "Glenfield")², Robert¹) was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 26 April 1841. Edward died 12 January 1908 Hospital Melbourne, Aus., at 66 years of age. His body was interred 13 January 1908 in Melbourne General Cemetery.

He married Margaret THWAITES in Melbourne, Vic., Aus., 8 December 1869. Margaret was born in Melbourne, Vic., Aus. 19 December 1844. Margaret was the daughter of George THWAITES and Eliza THWAITES.

Edward Thomas JOHNSTONE and Margaret THWAITES had the following children:

+ 111 i. Francis Edward⁴ JOHNSTONE was born 14 November 1870.

112 ii. Herbert George JOHNSTONE was born February 1872. Herbert died 9 April 1873 at 1 year of age.

113 iii. Florence Eleanor JOHNSTONE was born in Brunswick, Vic, Aus. 1873 no. 22306. Florence died 7 February 1935 at 61 years of age.

114 iv. Alfred Ernest JOHNSTONE was born in Brunswick, Vic, Aus. 1875 no. 7438. Alfred died 9 January 1941 at 65 years of age.

115 v. Catherine Eliza JOHNSTONE was born February 1877. Catherine died 21 August 1878 at 1 year of age.

116 vi. Edith Isabel JOHNSTONE was born in Brighton, Vic., Aus. 1878 no. 21050. Edith died 30 June 1960 at 81 years of age.

117 vii. Elsie Eileen JOHNSTONE was born in Brighton, Vic., Aus. 1880 no. 6737. Elsie died 12 August 1960 at 80 years of age.

+ 118 viii. Arthur Rupert JOHNSTONE was born 1881 no. 7324.

+ 119 ix. Harold Vivian JOHNSTONE was born 27 December 1882.
