Vintage The power of Twentieth Century modern fashion has come to personify the timeless woman of glamor and style. The century made its first fashion forward moves in the early twenties as the flappers were the first women to break the fashion boundaries. The nineteen-twenties, forties, and fifties have had the biggest pull on the fashion forward movement which will forever remain timeless. Vintage is classic, it’s pure, and chic. The simple ultra femme flows play the base line, then with flattering cuts, roll in with the beat drop, and then what more do you need. Influences like this were always meant to linger about looking for another designer to play muse with. The ultra feminine shapes and anything that made the waist seem tinier brought fame, none bigger than the classic a-line skirt in all of its glory; first showing its flattering lines in the spring of 1955 for Christian Dior. The spring of 2007 however, takes the a-line shape, as well as long tapered pencil skirts, metallic anything and the white button up shirt and mixes it all up. The women that held par in the forties and fifties always remained glamorous and chic and the women who didn’t couldn’t afford to. Although not every girl can have a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes these days she can get herself a damn classy pair of shoes that only look like she delved deep into the wallet. The modern woman can always remain utterly chic; she just needs a little vintage in her life. Written by Cassandra Dotzel |
