Dear
Mr. Wilson,
Today, we went to an art museum. We saw a painting that we
thought you would like. It is called Outward Bound, by
Norman Rockwell. The painting is set on a hill overlooking
the ocean. On both the left and right sides, there are tall
towers that look like church steeples. In the center of the
painting, standing on the hill, are a man, a boy, and a puppy.
The old man, with his dark, heavy jacket on, gently lays his hand
on the boys shoulder. The young child, probably about
seven to eight years old, stares in amazement as he watches the
sailboat glide across the smooth water like a raindrop on a
windshield. The sky is blue, but there are signs of rain
all around. It is like I can feel the wind blowing in the
smell of the rain. The few dark clouds make the sky echo
with thunder, announcing that a storm is headed this way. The
puppy stands by the boy, wagging his tail, as seagulls hover over
their heads. We really liked this painting. It gave
us a peaceful feeling. Perhaps one day, you will be able to
see it too.
Sincerely,
Me,Myself, and I
