The Final Task

The final task is a sentence building exercise.  The best way to do this is to make a list of about 5-10 different sentence patterns.  Then, have someone pick a number between one and ten.  The number on the list that corresponds with the number picked is the sentence pattern that the students have to create.  Here are some examples of what to use.

1.          Pronoun, verb, adverb, prepositional phrase.

2.          Proper noun, conjunction, article, noun, verb, conjunction, verb, adverb, prepositional phrase, prepositional phrase.

3.          Any quoted sentence, as long as it has all parts to a quote (quotation marks, punctuation inside of marks, a speaker, etc.)

4.          Article, adjective, adjective, adjective, noun, verb, conjunction, verb.

5.          Noun, verb, article, direct object.

The sentences have to be built using each part listed in the order given.
