Amateur Night at Yuk Yuk's
              Niagara Falls, ON
     Wednesday August 28th 2002
So Joe, the manager of the Niagara Falls Yuk Yuk's, calls up Igloo back on August 18th, and asks if he'd like to come back and perform again. This time he can have up to 10 minutes! Wow! Igloo is there! Although his "3 Characters in 5 Minutes or Less" sketch didn't go over that well, Joe must figure there is hope in young Igloo.

And so Igloo decided to return to Niagara Falls as "Parry Soundz", since Parry went over so well back on July 10th as part of Igloo's character trilogy. That night,  Igloo/Parry followed a young man from Buffalo, who although nervous, was funny as hell. The crowd was ready and worked up, and wanted to laugh!.

Igloo/Parry got to go up 2nd, so already he had earned a little respect from the club. The respect probably ended there! Igloo had not prepared himself enough, enough to get right inside Parry, and actually be him. The first problem was the voice, it  wasn't quite right. As well, the character lacked energy, I think Igloo thought just being up there would be funny enough!

He tried to interact with the audience, but needed to do more of it, and follow up any possible funny leads. Although Igloo didn't look nervous, he didn't seem to be in his element.

Joe signaled Igloo after about 7 minutes that he was bombing and it was time to get the heck off the stage! Igloo needs to create and energy, an excitment, a persona, a stage presence. We all know he has it in him, he just has to figure how to get it all out. He needs to think more about the show, when he was beginning to bomb, Igloo should have senced it more and tried to save him self with some one-liners, but that didn't seem to come natural to him. Igloo has great ideas, he just has to harness them.

Igloo has been trying to get the open mic thing going at local bars in Woodstock, but no one really seems interested. Igloo was hoping to get this going to enable him to get some stage experience, not unlike the Beatles and thier time at the Star Club in Hamburg. That is where they refined thier sound and image. Like the Beatles, Igloo needs to hone, refine, and practice. As long as Igloo continues to learn from his mistakes, some day we are sure he will perform his "Sgt. Pepper"! (The greatest Beatles CD ever!)

Special thanks to Jeanette Ryerson and Scott Stringle for coming all the way to Niagara Falls to see Igloo. And Joe, give Igloo another chance!

Don't give up Igloo, we love you!
