chapter 6.

Keiko cried as she rode the bus home. She cried for the past, and her future. Everyone, even Rai, who she had leaned on when Keita had left her, was gone. She felt she had no reason to live. Her phone ring startled her. She knew never to not pick up a phone call, just in case of emergencies. She flipped her phone cover up and in a quiet voice, she said, "Keiko desu." For a while, silence was heard on the other line. Keiko was just about to hang up her phone, when she heard someone say, "Keiko.." As soon as she recognized the voice she wanted to hang up but she couldn't get herself to. "I care about you Keiko. Please... please.. I don't want to lose you a second time.." She listened and breathed slowly. She could feel more tears coming on and she hung up.

Rai was so disappointed of himself. He had wanted to help Keiko be happier, he had wanted to help Keiko and Tachibana get back together. But he couldn't get himself to. He couldn't resist thinking about himself. About how it would cause him to suffer if he let them be together. He wasn't supposed to punch Tachibana, that wasn't his plan. He didn't actually have a particular plan. But he knew his plan DEFINITELY didn't involve barging in on their time and hurting Keiko like that. Thoughts ran through his head as he walked home. He didn't really want to go home, so he walked to the park.

Keiko sat on one of the low swings and freed her mind of thoughts. She sat swaying lightly, with a blank expression on her face. She didn't realize a person was approaching her. When Rai saw Keiko on the swing with her head slightly tilted, blinking every so often, he wanted to rush over to her. But he thought against it and slowly approached her. He figured she was either deep in thought or sleeping, because she didn't look up or notice him at all.

Keiko jumped in shock when she heard a voice next to her. "Sorry." She saw Rai. A feeling of madness surged through her body. She got up to leave. He spoke again. "Keiko, meet him." She turned around quickly and yelled. "Why?! I wouldn't expect that from you. Especially you. You had no right to hit him like that. He didn't do anything wron--" "Oh. I got it now. You don't care whether or not I proclaimed my feelings to you after waiting for four years for the right time. You care about one person. Too bad that person was the one that left you." Rai continued. "Keiko, I don't get you. What do you see in Tachibana?! What does he have that I don't. Fame? Looks? Dance moves? Is that what you base your guys on?! My impression of you is slowly getting unclear. Is this who you really am? Another one of those crazy fangirl type girls that only like the good looking, popular jerks?!" Keiko started to raise her voice also. "NO! I thought you knew me better than that.. That person doesn't care about me. He never did." A tear slowly ran down her cheek. "Keita meant everything to me. He was the one person I was certain I could share my life with. He was the one person I'd gladly give my life up for. He was the only one that could really make me purely happy." Rai sighed. "There's my reason. I want you happy Keiko. And theres only one guy who can do that.. meet him."
