Case Studies

 

The number of case studies that you will need to write for certification is determined by your academic experience.  This page defines the content requirements for the case studies.  Those case studies deemed to be of benefit to practitioners and educators may be published in the Journal of the IHRDI. 

Case Study Content

Each case study should describe a human resource problem or consulting opportunity and explain how you used your professional skills and knowledge to solve the problem or successfully complete the consulting engagement.  Each case study should focus on one of the following core competencies:

  Compensation analysis

  Employee selection

  Human resource planning

  Job analysis and design

  Measurement and evaluation of employee attitudes, opinions and satisfaction

  Organizational design

  Performance appraisals

  Total quality and performance management

  Training needs analysis and training program development

 

Case Study Format

Case studies must conform to the following format requirements:

Ø      8 ½  x 11 inch paper

Ø      1 inch margins

Ø      double spaced

Ø      12 point characters

Ø      Conform to either the APA or MLA style guides for manuscripts

Ø      Not to exceed ten pages
