Everyone is obsessed with the concept of freedom.  The United States of America was founded on a basis of personal freedom and liberty.  Some of the greatest philosophers in the history of the world have extolled the benefits of freedom.  Clearly, life is better when one is free to pursue their own interests as opposed to not being able to.  However, the Bible has a slightly different take on freedom.  The Biblical position on freedom is that no one is truly free who isn’t a follower in Christ.  Oh, they may be “free” to pursue their own interests—i.e., there are no external obstacles inhibiting them from pursuing their desires—but is such a person truly free?  Is freedom merely a matter of being free from external hindrances, or is there more to it?

God designed the human race to find complete joy and happiness in fellowship with him, yet it was our ability to freely choose contrary to God’s plan that has enslaved us in a life of bondage to evil desires and sin.  Contrary to popular opinion, the human race is decidedly not free!  In our natural states, we’re enslaved by our sinful desires; unable to choose a lifestyle that pleases our heavenly Father.  In the Book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul shows us the path to true freedom—the freedom found in a life bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.

The following excerpts are this author’s attempt to hit the highlights of this book.  They are not intended to be full expositions of this text, but it is hoped that the reader will be edified by them.  I praise Almighty God for the ability to present these articles, and it is my prayer that He will use them to illuminate.
