El instituto iberoamericano de idiomas fué fundado en Febrero de 1989 y registrado ante la Sep en 1990.
En Septiembre de 1995 fué incorporado a la SECUDE por lo que sus reconocimientos tienen validez oficial.
Desde 1991 ha recibido el reconocimiento anual denominado "Aguila de Calidad y Prestigio" que se otorga al mejor Instituto de Idiomas de la localidad, según encuestas realizadas entre el público de la ciudad.
El iii fue también autorizado como "Agente Capacitador Externo" por la Secretaría de Trabajo y Previsión Social en Diciembre de 1997.
Actualmente cuenta con una población aproximada de 900 alumnos una plantilla de 40 maestros nacionales y extranjeros debidamente capacitados y con experiencia, que se actualizan a nivel local como fóraneo.
El Instituto esta afiliado a asociaciones internacionales tales como "TESOL" (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Ademi, British Council, así como Journal for TESL, National Geographic, Newsweek, BITS and Pieces, Entrepeneur, etc. y mantiene relaciones académicas con otras instituciones de enseñanza de idiomas tanto en México como en el extranjero.

ibero has approximately 1200 students and a staff of 50 Mexican and foreign duly
trained teachers who are continuously updated in methodology and technique.
The
ibero is subscribed to the following organizations: TESOL (Teachers of English
to Speakers of Other LANGUAGES), Ademi, British Council, as well as National
Geographic, Newsweek, Bits and Pieces, Entrepreneur, Charisma, Voice of Victory,
CFNI Bulletin, etc. and holds academic relations with other language teaching
institutions in Mexico as well as abroad.
