
IJAM welcomes original papers that
pertain to state-of-the-art, research and development, product development, novel
applications, and tools in the areas related to agile manufacturing. IJAM addresses the
utilization of Agility, and includes areas of information modeling, distribution, planning
and scheduling, and collaborative decision-making, as well as organization and
management.. Agile technologies that result in faster productivity and better customer
value are emphasized.
Major Research Areas

Process characterization and matrices, enterprise modeling, multi-enterprise integration,
information sharing and collaboration, networked collocation tools for multi-media
conferences, distributed environments, corporate technical memories, capturing design
intent, AMS languages and tools, intelligent retrieval, virtual teams,architectures,
emerging standards and practices.

submission:
The journal will publish only original, quality papers. Send one original manuscript and
three complete copies to any one of the Editors or the Managing Editor at

Along with your three hard copies, please submit a computer 3 1/2 diskette containing the
formatted text using Microsoft Word or WordPerfect in an IBM/PC format. Clearly mark the
disk with authors names and title of the paper printed on the label.
Research briefs and books for review can be submitted to the Book Review Editor.
Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that the same work has not been
and will not be published elsewhere, nor is presently submitted elsewhere, and that all
persons listed as authors have given their approval for the submission; further, that any
person cited as a source of personal communication has approved such citation. Written
authorization may be required at the Editors discretion. Articles and other material
published in IJAM represent the opinions of the authors and should not be construed to
reflect the opinions of the Editors or the Publisher.
2. Copyright
permission:
All original journal articles are copyrighted in the name of the Publisher. All original
articles accepted for publication must be accompanied by a signed copyright transfer
agreement available from the journal editor or from the Publishers website.
Previously copyrighted material may be published with the written permission of the
copyright holder. Copies of any letters granting permission to reproduce illustrations,
tables, or lengthy quoted passages should be included with the manuscript. Responsibility
for the accuracy of the material in the manuscript, including appropriate references to
related work, lies entirely with the authors. The Publisher willnot put any limitation on
the personal freedom of the author to use material contained in the paper in other work
which may be published elsewhere, provided due acknowledgement is given.
3. Manuscript
preparation:
Manuscripts should be typewritten, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides,
using 8 1/2 ×11 in. paper, one side only. Each page of the manuscript should be numbered,
and illustrations, tables, and listings should be attached separately at the end with an
appropriate caption list. One illustration or table should appear per page. Articles
should be concise and in English. Normally, manuscripts (including tables, charts, and
figures) should not exceed 5000 words (approximately 25 typewritten double-spaced pages).
Page 1 should contain the article title, author(s) affiliations, a short form of the title
(less than 55 characters including letters and spaces), and the name, complete mailing
address, and telephone and fax numbers of the author to whom correspondence should be
sent. Page 2 should contain a short abstract (200500 words) and 510 relevant
key words. All acronyms should be spelled out where first used.
4. Style:
The journal will use the style described for IEEE Transactions.
5. Abbreviations:
Customary abbreviations will be accepted and the authors are recommended to employ Systeme
Internationale (metric) units. Special and unusual symbols should be clearly identified,
especially if handwritten.
6. Tables and
figures:
Tables and figures should be completely understandable independent of the text. Each table
and figure must be mentioned in the text, given a title, and consecutively numbered with
Arabic numerals. The originals for the illustrations, tables, and figures should be
enclosed when the paper is initially submitted. Originals must be legible after reduction
to a maximum size of 8 inches wide by 11 inches high. Color originals can be published if
warranted at the authors expense. Any illustrations supplied as photographs must be
in sharp glossies. Number all original artwork on the back with a soft pencil, including
identifying information such as the title. Any art that is sent electronically should be
in .tif files, in 300 dpi resolution, for superior reproduction.
7. Footnotes:
Footnotes should be used sparingly and indicated by consecutive numbers in the text.Acknowledgements,
grant numbers, or other credits should be given as a separate footnote.
8. References:
All sources cited in the text must be numbered. In references, the last name should be
listed first followed with initials for the first and middle names for the first author,
subsequent authors should be listed with initials first, then the last name. References
should be complete with the year, title, publication, volume, and the page numbers. Below
are examples of entries for a paper, proceedings, and a book, respectively.

9. Author
biographies:
Brief author biographies with photographs will be printed at the end of each paper. The
biographical sketch is limited to 100 words and should describe the author(s)
expertise, current position, publications, and technical interests. Submitted material may
be edited by the Publisher.
10. Proofreading and
reprints:
Authors will receive page proofs, which they should correct and return as soon as
possible. Also submit key words of your contribution on the separate sheet provided. This
is important in helping us to construct the index. Authors will also receive a reprint
order form.

Papers selected for publication in an IJAM Journal are subject to a voluntary page charge
of $50 per journal page. The total amount will be invoiced, through the author, to the
author's company, institution, or agency. One hundred (100) free reprints are provided
when the paper has been published in a journal and the voluntary page charges have been
paid. Publication is not dependent upon payment of the voluntary page charge.
In very special circumstances, a reduction in publication fee can be considered, and in
extreme cases the publishing fee can also be waived. The decision is subject to approval
by the Chief Editor.
