Originally know as Dance Club, we have since revamped our image under our ex teacher-in-charge Mr Eric Tan, and we are now known as IJ Dance Ensemble. The change in name is to promote a sense of bonding and warmth within this particular CCA as "ensemble" means a group of performers working together.

Of all the performing arts, dance is perhaps the least understood. Often branded too high brow for general tastes or too esoteric to be relevant to everyday issues. However, dance is fundamental to all cultures and plays many roles and functions, from religious to social lubrication. Perhaps even our daily encounters with and through this urban landscape are but a form of dance, incognito.

The IJ Dance Ensemble aims to help students overcome this barrier and allow them to experiment with new forms of dance such as Jazz, Contemporary and even Ballet. Yet these are only a small fraction of what the IJ Dance Ensemble has in store. We hope to inculcate the fluidity of body movement into IJ girls and turn them into girls of grace and style, versatile to any form of dance, but, besides dance alone, dancing teaches one the meaning of responsibility and team-work. Because, with just one person missing, the show would not be able to go on as there would be no more an ensemble.
