Table Talk:
A Dinner Date with LMNT
Teen mags have been
extra-supportive of LMNT, the band created by ex-Making the Band boys
Bryan Chan, Ikaika kahoano and Mike Miller, and which originally featured
Broadway vet Matt Morrison. Why? Because they're good singers, have
good manners and are good people all the way around.
These good guys invited
Popstar! and some other teen publications to an exclusive dinner to
celebrate their early successes-a heartfelt payback to the press that is
incredibly rare in the teen pop world. This private dinner took place at
the very LGNT(that's LMNT speak for "elegant") Asian-cuisine hotspot "Dish of
Salt" on W. 47th Street in New York City. Guests arrived at 7:00 PM and
were greeted by everyone but Matt, who was filming an acting role as a gay boy
band member in the Lisa Kudrow/Damon Wayans comedy Marci X across
the city.
Bryan, Mike and Ikaika were
extremely warm to all their invited guests, toasting us for our coverage and our
friendship. Ikaika revealed that he was considering hosting a syndicated,
teen-appeal TV show, Mike introduced us to a high-tech version of
Battleship and Bryan took the lead in making sure everyone got what we
ordered. Great guys!
The evening was amazing-and it
was a very sweet gesture by LMNT that will never be forgotten. If you'd
been a fly on the wall-not that Dish of Salt has any of those!-you'd have been
surprised that such big talents and such big stars would be so down to
earth.
Unfortunately, Matt bolted the
band about a week later, but he will be replaced with a new member before LMNT's
first CD drops, and we've got insider gossip that says Matt and the guys have a
strict NO HARD FEELINGS policy in full effect.
A four-star dinner party with
three of our fave stars!
