The following are pictures from the Inipi site. This is the men's lodge, the fire pit and the men's changing area.
The rocks we heat for the ceremony.
Wood shed, blankets and sacred room where we keep the paraphernalia for the ceremony.
The spot for the women's lodge. We took down the old one and are in the process of building a new one. Also the women's changing room and a close up of the fire pit. I have been learning to be a fire tender.
Cannunpa
I've been making a cannunpa. Becoming a connunpa carrier is something I thought hard about for several months. I did a fire quest with the question formost on my mind. I've also taken prayer ties into several inipis and took the question with me to South Dakota. I finally felt like the path of a cannunpa carrier was right for me. Gene kindly gave me a piece of pipe stone he received from Gilbert WalkingBull and assisted me in making a cannunpa.
I walked through the forest until I found a big leaf maple tree who volunteered a limb to carve into the stem (left). To the right is the stem about midway completed.
Two shots of the bowl in the early stages. I didn't think to take pictures until I'd been working on it for a bit. Initially it was just a rectangular piece of stone.
