This tale starts as many others do, with a young warrior whose blood thirsts for glory! The young warrior's family had been driven off of Kronos during The Dark Times after the Third Dynasty. They were loyal to Emperor Ra'Klaw, and were hunted and killed for their honor and loyalty. The young warrior’s family took refuge on the second moon orbiting Kronos, and changed the House name to Vak'khol. This young warrior was strong and fearless and had unnatural speed in battle. As though for him time almost stops and he can see the entire battle and all outcomes in an instant. Of course the youth of this warrior prevented him from understanding this gift from Kahless! The young warrior was arrogant and brash, as many his age, but his victory in every fight he had fought given him these qualities. Just after the young warrior completed The First Right of Ascension, during the last civil war, his family was killed in glorious battle by invading Duras loyalists. The young warrior vowed to eliminate any and all of them he could find! So he set fourth to the invaders camp to spill thrice the blood they had spilled. He was quick to find the bloodless pa'tok'may and that is the first glimpse the young warrior got of the wondrous gift. As the young warrior approached the camp, he felt his blood screaming for him to feel his enemies life pour out over his hands. Then suddenly time stops! He sees the enemy, all of them, and he sees his path through the camp to kill them in one run though! He stepped forward with this in mind and just as suddenly he had killed them all!! As though he was a Blood Wind, and in the moments that followed he tried to find in him self that stillness that had delivered his enemies to the gates of sto'vo'qor. It was gone, with no way off the moon the young warrior used the enemy’s communicators to call a loyal ship and join the imperial fleet. The I.K.V. Drako was the closest to the moon when he called and this was his home for the years that followed until the war ended and he then sought his gift once again. The young warrior left his ship behind and made a pilgrimage to the caves of Kahless. There he spent his time meditating on this gift and calling out to his ancestors for guidance. Time past. The young warrior was now a man but still sought guidance. One fateful day the warrior was meditating, his prayers were answered. As the warrior prayed, as so many times before, he felt a presence. Just as he became conscience of this presence, it spoke! "Be joyous warrior! I have come to guide you to your true name and destiny!" The warrior could not believe his eyes! He said in reply "I am honored glorious ancestor! What must I do... What? My true name? I do not understand ancestor." "Songs of our house's glory have fallen silent, I hear not our deeds honored! You my son you shall bring our house's glory back from the brink!" The specter was furious, "Go now ask of me nothing else, and I leave you with a word of your gift. Be not enraged, be focused. Blood boils, blood spills. Blood cools, stillness." And with that the specter was gone. In his place was a very old star map with a red circle and the words "Rest My Sons.” The warrior set out to the mysterious destination, with his heart soaring. He procured a shuttle capable of warp and was on his way. The shuttle was slow so the warrior took the opportunity to meditate further on the specter’s cryptic words. In his meditation he saw a vision of a great battle, of himself leading a small group against an army. Heard himself shout something, the small group moved forward though the army as though it were a terrible Blood Wind. The warrior was shaken back by weapons fire. He was under attack! He jumped to his feet, thinking Duras's followers found him and wanted his blood, he ran to the controls, in time to see a Bird of Prey firing another volley. He returned fire, no use his shuttle was no match for the scou class Bird of Prey. As suddenly at it started the attack stopped, his shields down he wondered why they do not finish him. He got his answer, they were stealing his warp core! He quickly initiated transport hiding his pattern in their confinement beam and setting the coordinates for engineering he dematerialized. Red shine, then the dark engineering room. The warrior was as a statue as he appeared, and his path clear he blew though the ship cutting a bloody path to the bridge. The commander gave the order to fire, nothing. "Destroy him NOW!" still nothing. Turning to do it herself she saw her weapons officer’s blood spill over the steady hand of the warrior. "You!? How did you....no matter I will cut you down were you stand, Pa'tok!" Unsheathing her weapon the glorious female made the warrior lose his stillness, before he knew it she was on him! They fought long and hard, until the warrior got the upper hand. With a mighty howl he plunged his dagger into her chest. The warrior and the female commander stared into one anothers eyes and saw their mate! With nothing but time the two spent the next week "testing one anothers resolve" and then they continued on to their destiny. On their way, they detect a strange fluctuation in a subspace band. It was an encrypted message from a Klingon Intelligence officer on a Romulan Warbird requesting the assistance of any Klingon vessel in the area. They cloaked and set out to assist their brother. Upon arriving at the coordinates they find the vessel unaware of their presence. They decloak and fire at the Warbird's shield generators, but they drop too easily for the warrior's liking. They scan for Klingon life signs, but before they find him he breaches the Warbird's warp core and jettisoned in an escape pod. They beam him to the bridge and before he could materialize they saw his face and drew their weapons! He was a Romulan! And a Tal'Shiar no less!! "What treachery this! Explain yourself Pa'tok!" they seemed to shout in unison. "Scan me and you will see I am not as I appear."In doing so they find he was a Klingon altered to look Romulan. "So you are an Intel officer!" "No. I was kidnaped at KHitomer and altered to look like this." "The commander took me as his son," he explained "and raised me as a Romulan. I grew up to be Tal'Shiar as my "father" before me, and I was damned good too!" "Then a month or so ago the man I called "father" was struck ill, as he died he explained the whole thing to me! I could not believe it! My whole life a lie, I felt the truth boiling in my blood! I AM KLINGON!!!!!! I screamed as I struck him dead! And there it was in green and white. I am Klingon, NOT Romulan, but KLINGON!!!" Amazed at the tale the warrior asked "How did you come to be aboard this ship at this time? And how did you know we would be there to find the transmission?" "I am Tal'Shiar, well was Tal'Shiar. So I put myself on a ship that was in Klingon space. As for you being there.......it was the hand of Kahless that guided you to that place not me." With a quick stop in the sick bay, the new addition to the crew had been restored. "What will be your name brother?" asked the warrior. "Bi'res Dor!" he exclaimed in reply. "What are your names?" "Ghetwi daughter of Kla'Rins!" shouted the female commander. The warrior replied, "I do not know my true name, but I am of the house Vak'khol.” "And who is in command of this ship?" asked Bi'res, the warrior looked at his beloved mate with a grin he said "I am! This was her ship until she decided to steal my warp core. Then I sent her crew to Sto'vo'Kor, and took her as my mate!" "Then that makes you the first officer?" Bi'res said with a laugh, "YES! And if you wish to use that tongue again you will show me respect WORM!" "HAHAHAHAA, AND THAT’S WHY SHE IS MY MATE!" exclaimed the warrior. Now a crew of three they set out for their destiny. Pondering the words on the map, "Rest My Sons", the warrior meditated long as the other two made repairs. "...in my arms, meet your end!" The warrior jumps to his feet in a sweat he quickly scans the room around him, nothing. Calling the bridge the warrior asks for a report on the repairs and their current position. "We have finished the repairs, captain, and are almost to the coordinates....." 'WHOOOOOP! WHOOOOOP! RED ALERT! RED ALERT!' "What the hell is going on up there!" the warrior shouted. "Sensors detect a Romulan Warbird and a Klingon Vork'cha class battle cruiser in a fire fight twelve light-years from our current position. Sir, the Battle cruiser is badly damaged it cant take another volley." "How bad off is the Warbird, can we do something to help?" "Not to worry, sir, I was Tal'Shiar remember?" Bi'res replied, "I have the codes for most of the fleet and sense the ship I was on is little bits now, they won’t have changed yet!" The warrior made his way to the bridge, but by the time he got there the Romulans were space chum. The crew scanned the Klingon ship and found one very faint life sign. After beaming over the crew finds the deck plates crusted with blood. "This isn’t recent, this is at least a day old!" said Ghetwi. "Then how did the ship last in that fight?" asked Bi'res, "Well automatic settings, the ship can survive for a while on its own." "Lets just get what we can and find the crew member who’s still alive then get on our way!" ordered the warrior. They found various parts and supplies among the gore and tortured bodies. Then in a small storage locker they found her, the last surviving member of the doomed crew. "Not a scratch on her!?" questioned the warrior, "How did she manage that, well lets call her choq (the preserved) help me get her u........" "BE'JOY!! BE'JOY!! BE'JOY!!!!" the crazed female lunged toward the crew, "BE'JOY!! BE'JOY!! BE'JOOOOYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!" WHACK! The warrior knocked the crazed female out. "What the hell was that!!!" "Let's go, NOW!!!" Back aboard the ship, the crew tended to the crazed female. She awoke after an hour, and had no memory of what happened on the ship or anything before that. Knowing he needs as many allies as possible, the warrior invites the female to join them. "What’s your name?" he asked, "I don’t know." "Well we called you choq when we found you then you jumped at us screaming be'joy over and over so how about Choq Be'joy?" "Okay" she said with a grin the made the warrior very uneasy. A crew of four now going to their fate, what awaits the fearless warriors? Almost to the site of his future the warrior was restless and wished for nothing more then to know who he is. "Entering system, setting course for the fifth planet." They scanned the surface and found an old Klingon intelligence facility. Beaming down to the surface the crew finds the facility full of fresh dead, but not a drop of blood. They follow what seems to be a path of corpses, and find a human sitting by a fire staring into it as if she were hypnotized. "Pa'tok! You spilled Klingon blood, prepare to suffer dearly!" Before they could draw the stranger disarmed them in a blur of speed! "How? No one else has ever been able to take my weapon. How could a frail human woman disarm me?" "I am not a frail human woman Pa’tok! I am Iw'batlh of Klingon Intelligence, well I was once before..." "Before what?" asked the warrior, "Before the empire covered up my existence, but being too valuable to kill, they froze me here." "Why would your existence be covered up by the empire?" "I am an augment, an abomination of science. The humans tried to purify their genes in the late twentieth century. The product of their experiments was human augments. These augments rose to power and were defeated. In the early twenty second century a human scientist named Soong stole some of the remaining embryos and grew them as his own children. Later those augments stole a Bird of Prey and were later captured by the Klingons. The council decided to do their own experiments with these augments as a source for genetic enhancements. The end result was me and my kind, not Klingon, more Klingon then Klingon and no ridges to help us infiltrate the humans. Most were used for deep space missions, others like me, did Intel. Then the new council decided we were not Klingon, but out of honor for our service to the empire we were not killed just told to leave not never return. I refused and they stuck me in a tube, then as luck would have it the power system shorted out and woke me up. Well it goes without saying I was not happy when I woke up, hence the trail of bodies." The warrior was impressed by this person, and when he asked for her to join she was more then happy. The warrior made her chief of security and no one argued. The crew of five set out to the coordinates on the surface. They came upon a circle of stones and what looked like a graveyard. The warrior's heart was pounding he knew he would know the answers to his question very soon. As they searched, they found a marker above a grave that had been raided many years ago. The marker read "Rest my sons, may your deaths be not in vain." and had a crest that was undistinguishable due to age. "What is this? Who are these people? What does this have to do with me?" the warrior was confused and angry. Was this just a journey of a mad manwhose lack of self made it easy to believe a fever dream? "Why have you brought me here ancestor, what was the POINT?!!!!!!" the warrior shouted as he dropped to his knees, his mind racing and his blood boiling he howled "CURSE YOU SPIRIT, YOU DAMNED AND HONORLESS SOUL!!!!!! WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS!?!" "Curse me not my son for I have not forsaken you. I had to test you to prove that you really are the Last Epetai of The House of Iw! That is your true house my son, rise last son of Iw and take this your name sake. A weapon that is deserving of being wielded by, and named for you........... Iw'Sus! (Blood Wind)." "But the dreams what do they mean?" I asked "You will answer that yourself with your path to glory and honor." and with that the spirit was gone. I rose to my feet and declared my name to my crew, not my crew, my HOUSE! "I AM IW'SUS EPETAI OF THE HOUSE OF IW, AND YOU ARE BROTHER, SISTERS AND OF COURSE MATE! You are now of the house Iw, and this is The I.K.A.V. Bloodstar!!! And we fight FOR THE GLORY THE EMPIRE!!" |
